Default Newbie Question. Backing up??

just bought a Samsung GS3 a few days ago and have been learning a lot about it. I can't seem to find how to backup my phone though. It's turned on to backup to Google servers in the options, but how can I tell if it's actually working? Is there a better way to backup my phone?

If you go to the gs3 forum you can learn how to root your phone. Then you can use Titanium Backup and Nandroid to back up your phone. Titanium Backup is an app that backs up your apps and app data. Nandroid backups are done through recovery and they backup the whole system.

If like probably 98% of users you don't want to root the phone, Google backup and/or MyBackup Pro can backup many things, but not *everything*. The phone's manual should explain Google backup.

To do a complete system backup you must root to use Titanium or do what's called a 'nandroid' backup.
