Default iPhone Messages app

I emailed the developer with the following questions but he never responded. Can someone help? I need to know if the following functionality works on this app....

1. popup message on lockscreen
2. display count of unread messages (like the native android sms app)
3. group messaging with iPhone users
4. display facebook contact pic

Popup messaging works mainly on this app: Handcent SMS

Unread counts are not on the Default messaging app in android, however, they can be utilized if you download Nova Launcher

Group messaging works basically when you send out a mass text it creates separate threads for each person you sent the text to.

Contact pics as of Android 4.0 (ICS) do not sync with Facebook, so you need a work around, might i suggest: HaxSync

Hope this helps

I am using Handcent and hate it. I love this phone but the only thing I miss about the iPhone is their native sms app

I have the new Galaxy Note2 with Jellybean and the native sms app does show unread messages

I want to be able to group message like on the iPhone where it does not create seperate threads....just like group chat

When using my native sms app, my facebook contact pics displays, however when using Handcent, its empty.

Default group texting with iphones

My wife insists that I participate in group texting with her and other iphone users. Here is how you do it. Download Handcent from Play market. Open and go to Menu, Settings, Application Settings. Select "Default Messaging Application" and select "All" then go "back" to last menu. Then scroll all the way down and select "Thread Group Conversation". Now back out to main settings menu. Select "Receive Message Settings" and check "Auto retrieve" and "Auto Download". Now that should get things going on Handcent. Then open up the stock messaging app and then menu, settings and turn off "Notifications". Else you will get duplicate notifications. Remove the stock messaging icon from home screen bar and replace with Handcent. I know a lot of work for something that Android should already do. I am sure it's a patent thing. BTW I am on AT&T with a GS3 running

Having used both I find this fb sync app works better than Haxsync.

Not sure actually. I thought you were referring to contact pics on the stock sms. I don't use handcent, I stick with the stock sms.
Although you could give it a try and see if it syncs with handcent.

I have Jellybean and my fb pics are already synced with my stock sms. I dont know what will happen if I re-sync it with your app
