Default facebook, no location on status updates?

Whenever I try and update my status on facebook why doesn't it automatically list the city I'm in? I'm using the Nexus 4.

Are you using the Facebook app? If so, you might want to try something third party. To my surprise, I wasn't able to locate a toggle for that feature within the settings

If what Ryan suggested isn't working then check if your location settings are all square that way you know that isn't the problem

Yes I'm using the Facebook app. What else is safe to use?

I even used Chrome to log in and the same thing happens. Could it be my phone?

I thought I had the same issue. It turns out that it was showing the city to everyone but me. Try checking your status post from someone else's account.

Do you mean I should check it from my N4 or my laptop using someone else's account?

Does your GPS work? That's how FB determines your mobile location.

Yes my gps works fine , but Facebook will not put the "near city name" next to my status updates unless I check in somewhere.

This has happened once or twice to me.
Open up Google maps, then see if that locates you.

Then open up Facebook, it should then locate you.

Obviously your location settings should be on.

Hope it helps.
