Default cannot access Gallery when USB Connected

Is this normal?

When my Nexus S is USB connected, I cannot see any Gallery images on the unit.
I get a message "No Storage" and "No External Storage Available"

When I disconnect, I see Gallery images fine.

What's going on here?

The storage can only mounted at one device at the same time, either at the PC or at phone.

Google Translate is to blame for my grammar

This exactly because when it is connected to your computer technically you are viewing the galley there and you can't in two places its just how android works. And typically cameras work like this too.
