Default Java exploit vulnerability in Android?

Much news recently about Oracle's Java as an exploit vector.*

Searching for "java" in the Google Play Store apps returns over 1,000 items.

I'm wondering to what extent Java is used in Android, and if there are any special precautions we might take to avoid any problems with it.

Default no real danger for android

Hi,

on a Android device you do not need to worry about this specific problem. Android uses its own security and does not run standard plain java apps and applets but uses its own classes derived from suns java. The main risk is for systems such as PCs using java in browsers and users accessing malicious html sites using pc browsers. An update can help to control the problem. See attachment.
