Default Apps download themselves???

Not sure if this is the right place to post but every now and then I'll pull my Samsung Transform Ultra all the way to the left and see apps that I never downloaded and they keep showing up. Is this spam or malware on my phone? Its been happening ever since I got the phone I think.

Can you list a few of the apps you're talking about?

I don't even have an Andriod phone yet (getting the Tab 2), but I guarantee you apps don't download themselves.
One of 3 options:
1)Your carrier is doing it
2)The apps are actually part of the phone, and during bootup it reinstalls the apps
3)Malware.
What are the apps?
Who is your carrier?

Push advertising: notification ads, unwanted shortcuts, browsers redirected.

Have a read of that, there are some excellent suggestions in that thread which should help you ascertain if you have a rogue app that's doing stuff it shouldn't be.

Are you sure you've not got Play set to automatically install updates too?

The push advertising thing seems to be the culprit, I've added those apps to detect it but what's been downloaded are things like casino games, or company apps that direct me to their other games. They are all shortcuts.

The Lookout ad detector should tell you what apps are causing the downloads and what you need to remove to stop them.
