Default Touchpal Keyboard Review!

Hello, I recently received the beta testing version of this Touchpal keyboard and all i have to say is "AMAZING." I've only had it for an hour, but I've sent more than enough text messages to inform you that this keyboard does not even compare to betterkeyboard or event he natural android virtual keyboard. I have yet to find bugs/faults with this keyboard, and it makes typing super smooth. Here is the breakdown:

The Good:

  • Less laggy
  • Very smooth
  • UI friendly (know the shortcuts such as holding the key and sliding your finger up or down)
  • The beta version doesn't have all the functions and only english language pack, but serves the majority of it's purpose.
  • Both landscape and portrait friendly (I personally like portrait)
  • 3 built-in innovative keyboards (look at screen shots at link below)
  • word prediciton is very accurate, making typing 40 words/minute possible!
  • Look at link below for more corp. information
  • Many language packs w/ official release (International benefit)
  • Beta testers get the paid version for free
The Bad:
  • Lanscape keys are a bit small (I have fat thumbs )
  • Takes some getting use to because of keyboard layouts
  • Hard to choose which keyboard you like best!
  • No DELETE key in the symbols (5 page) mode =( (the 12., button bottom right) Makes it kinda hard when u make a mistake in a list of numbers/using multiple numbers. you have to switch back to the keyboard view to get to the delete button)
  • Closes on autorotate (start message in landscape or portrait but don't switch in between!)
  • *Nothing too bad, but that's all i got! Hopefully other beta testers can add to this list

We will have the following improvement in our public release:
1. Support G1 hard keyboard input (and the soft keyboard won’t pop up)
2. New landscape mode with bigger keys
3. Support user-defined words
4. Haptic feedback (vibration mode)
5. Other bug fixes

im currently using the beta version as well and have some of the same complaints as u... like when u landscape mode it is very big and leaves little room when typing texts but i guess theres not much for that, as well as the delete thing when ur in symbol modes and i think there shud also be a spacebar vs the "page" number in the middle area. another thing is the dictionary shud be matched with the one in the software like a few everyday words arent in the autotext dictionary so it gets kind of annoying

I've been using the beta for two days now, really like it esp the 12 key phone pad. Only things missing for me are Chinese input and the ability to add my own words to the prediction dictionary.
