Default Share calendar and contacts across Andriods

I want to share my calendar and contacts with my wife's gmail account so that our phones and desktop are up to date.

I understand that calendar may be possibel but contatcs may not.

I have found this page;-

Share your calendar with specific users - Google Calendar Help

but when I open my Google desktop calendar webpage I do not get the:-

click the down-arrow button next to a calendar, then select Share this calendar.

so cannot enter her gmail address.

Can anyone please advise on how to share contacts and calendar?

In Google Calendar, on the left hand side of the page, there is a list of calendars that you have created. When you hover your mouse over the individual calendars, there is a little arrow that appears beside the name of the calendar. Pull that little arrow down and you get a menu of options including Share.
