Just a heads up to anyone who hasn't already read about it, but Sugarsync has added a significant new feature to it's Android app. Now,every photo you take on your android phone will be automatically backed up to a specified folder on your computer and the web. They are also offering a very friendly 5GB storage now to new sign ups.

I feel the photo upload feature is something which gets one over Dropbox majorly and Im seriously considering jumping ship.

Anyways, heres my Sugarsync referral link too if anyone is interested in having a look at Sugarsync. Sign ups through this link will give both myself and yourself an added 500MB of storage.

https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rf=faq23kttdeh08&utm_source=txemail&utm_m edium=email&utm_campaign=referral

Peace. x

Default Sugarsync Rocks

Sugarsync - feel free to use my referal to give us both 500 MB of extra space

https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rf=cnqtsob40fg3a&utm_source=txemail&utm_m edium=email&utm_campaign=referral

I've been a long time Dropbox user but I'm now switching to Sugarsync.

I love the ability to rightclick a folder anywhere on the system and tell it to sync. The android picture sync is awesome.

I just found Secretsync which is a client side encryption for both Dropbox and Sugarsync. I'm loving that. It's free for up to two gigs of data. I don't think I will ever need to encrypt more then two gigs of secure data but if you want to sign up, here's my referral link: https://www.getsecretsync.com/ss/ref/i/?ss0a8120f

I was using Windows Live Mesh to sync specific files because I didn't want to do symlinks with Dropbox AND I was using Dropbox. Now that I've moved to Sugarsync, I just use the one program. It's great for save games between my laptop and desktop, encrypted work files (via Secretsync) and I can email files to my account if I'm out and want to review them later.

I can't speak highly enough about sugarsync since they've upped their starting quota, come out with the Android client and made the referral space unlimited.

It sounds like LAN sync is automatic,if you have other computers on the you LAN at installation time of dropbox, see their help page. I'd put the link in but this is my first posting.

P.S. if anyone still whats referal space for dropbox, use this: http://db.tt/vrU2ux5o

I use both Dropbox and Sugarsync on my tablet. Dropbox is nice and fast and immediate, and allows you to keep certain files synced whether they are modified from Dropbox or by an app directly, while Sugarsync is good for folder sharing and app backup.

I still have 250MB referral credit left if anyone needs it: http://db.tt/vrU2ux5o
and 500MB on sugarsync:

Thanks guys, I was looking for a referral link to SugarSync. I clicked on yours Tabarnak ;-)

It's cool to see that SugarSync also give you extra space for downloading the app etc (just like Dropbox).

I'm already a Dropbox user, but may move fully to SugarSync due to the fact you can sync files from computers to local storage on Android; pretty useful!

My links are here:

I've used Dropbox for 2 years now and it has been the one I've recommended to friends and family. If you need a quick and user friendly way to sync files then Dropbox is it.

The only thing that bothers me about dropbox is that it's a little to user friendly. Sometimes when a company focuses on the "every man" they neglect those who are bit techy and that's true of drop box. I use my computer a lot, I have a droid phone and two droid tablets. I have files in folders all over the place and dropbox's simplistic single folder sync structure just doesn't accommodate the way I use my pc.

So now I'm using both db and sugar. I'm new to sugar, in fact I just signed up using one of the links provided above, so I can't critique their service. If everything with sugar goes as advertised then this for me means no more moving my files around just to get them synced.

In short if you want one area of your pc set aside for syncing and backup where you can just toss files in and walk away then I recommend dropbox. If you have a hectic non-organized life and a pc to match with the need for flexible folder spanning syncing then Sugar appear to be where it's at. Both options are free so there's no harm in signing up for both, trying them yourself, and then ditch the one that doesn't fit your needs.

Just started using dropbox. I always worry that the files I save on my flash drive would be lost. I use it to transport files from home and work. Now it has become my default storage place. Plan to use dropbox as a backup or even replacement.

http://db.tt/wCwkNIlZ <--Clicky here and hook us both up with more storage.

Dropbox is a incredible useful service which allows you to get for free 2 GB of space online, which you can easily use to backup and synchronize files between various devices. You can easily share and access your favorite files between your linked devices as well as manage them from a web interface, instead of manually uploading your favorite files on each device you own.
A real time-saver and a really useful free application.
If you are interested you can join by using my referral link and we both get 500 MB of free additional space, meaning you get 2,5 GB for free instead of 2. My referral link is this: http://db.tt/y7FZlMWz
Thanks and enjoy your extra 500 MB

Anyway, here are the new links:

Dropbox: http://db.tt/R21o6EjF

SugarSync: https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rf=bp8gyd5iazjdo&utm_source=website&utm_m edium=web&utm_campaign=referral&shareEvent=42947

Now, with both Dropbox & SugarSync, I've a combined storage of around 9.8 GB, apart from SkyDrive's 25 GB... and I think that's wonderful.

SugarSync gives me the option of chosing which folders I want to sync and that's very helpful.. For Dropbox, all shared files goes into a specific dropbox folder that's located somewhere and it's a bit difficult for me to Sync certain folders. So I use Dropbox mainly for sharing files between colleagues...

But both are great and wonderful. Hope anyone who wants to create a new account finds this useful, as it will increase space for both parties

Cheers.

My SugarSync referral link: Sign up to get 5 GB of FREE storage!

I prefer it over dropbox because my android automatically backs up all photos and videos. They are also automatically downloaded to my computer too.

Signing up through this link gets us each 500MB extra, FREE in addition to the 5GB.

Dropbox backs up your pics and videos automatically also. plus gives you free space for using the auto upload feature

SugarSync 5GB+500MB Bonus Space is a great alternative to dropbox. It's not as friendly or attractive compared to Dropbox, but like Dropbox it doesn't have a file size limit, which is incredibly useful and other services don't offer. Also like Dropbox, when you sign-up complete the getting started to gain even more additional space.

Dropbox 500MB Bonus Space is the best with being very friendly to non-tech savy people and attractive to look at sometimes with it's simplicity, lol. But, it offers a lot and often offers additional space to it's users if they join the beta of their desktop or mobile clients.

Default Jottacloud - new cloud storage W/20GB FREE!

Hey guys, I just got turned on to a new cloud storage service and their offering a great deal. 5GB free, 10GB sign-up bonus, and we both get 5GB more for using the link I'm providing. I'm not affiliated in any way with this cloud storage service and just passing along what I thought is a good deal. Check it out!

How it works

  • Invite friends to Jottacloud
  • Your friend will receive an invitation to Jottacloud by e-mail, or link on forum.
  • Your friend clicks on the link and sign up on Jottacloud
  • Both you and your friend gets 5 GB of bonus storage
You can get up to 100 GB bonus storage.

Has any one taken advantage of the college battle to get the most gigs? You have to have a .edu e mail but you get 3 or 6 gigs for free
