Default app similar to kik

i dont like kik its been messing up nd not sending my messages.

im looking for a messaging app similar to kik.
one where you dont sign up with your phone number. just simply use an username and add a friend via username .

i cant seem to find any app similar every app i try asks for my phone number and to sync my contacts and what not.

i might just turn back to msn. or gtalk

I used to be a Kik user a few years ago but it got weird so I moved to Google Talk. I have a frugal friend who doesn't have a texting plan so we use GTalk. The only problem is you can't send files. Even so I'd recommend it.

I'm not sure that this answered your question. Let me know if I can help further.

My wife and I use Kik every day without issue. We never have any issues with messages not being sent.
