Default Annoying Ring

I have a Galaxy Note and it has an annoying ring when I receive an email from my gmail account. It is just one ring and it is loud, even if I have the volume turned down. I cannot figure out how to adjust or change this alert. I thought it had something to do with the Social Hub, but I disabled that and it still rings. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

If you get a notification at the same time as the ring, open your notifications screen and long press the notification and you can get into the app info that way.

Also, have you gone through your gmail settings and adjusted those?

That did not work, it only opened the email. I am going to check the settings in the gmail account later.

I'll keep you posted.

What email app are you using? Go into the settings of that app and change the tone.
