Default Galaxy S4 Knox

I have been a BlackBerry user for years....I am considering moving to the Galaxy S4 at the end of the month....I am not an Enterprise user nor do I own a PC, all of my communication, browsing and financial activity, etc. is done via the Smartphone. I am concerned about Android security but have read about Knox. Does this app offer improved security for a private user such as myself? I am new to this forum and attempted to find an answer before posting but could not find what I am looking for thanks for any assistance you can provide

Have you seen these two links ... Samsung KNOX-Solutions-Security | SAMSUNG ... for a description and this ... Full Samsung Knox launch delayed until a 'later date' ... that mentions a delay?

What kind of security concerns do you have? If you can elaborate on this we might be able to ease your concerns.

Thanks for responses, with regards to my concerns although no expert, I have a general idea of how SSL works and I am dependent upon it for financial transactions and certain email communications. I have read that Android SSL is not always easy for an end user to select/implement. I have also read that due to it's Linux/Java based open architecture, installation of a wide variety of apps is possible but on a "use at your own risk" basis and that it may take a level of sophistication that I don't have to set up the phone such that I can restrict what an app can and cannot do.

Unfortunately I'm not able to answer your concern regarding SSL.

Read through this post. It may answer some of your question regarding app permissions. Let us know if you still have question after read through this post.

Android permissions explained, security tips, and avoiding malware

A rule I stick to for Android apps is only download from reputable sites like Google Play store or Amazon. If you do not understand why an app needs a certain permission you can email the developer. Most Developers will explain why a permission is needed.
