Question Which system app is resoponsible for sound?

Hello,

I recently rooted my android phone (Samsung Galaxy Mini) and uninstalled some applications which seemed useless.
As soon as I rebooted my device, there was no sound in my phone! Music, alarm clock, ringtone, notifications etc all stopped playing.

The reason could be that I might have uninstalled a system application that is responsible for sound.

If that's the reason, could anyone please help me get it back?

Thanks.

System wise, I beliive Andriod uses alsa. I don't think you'd have deleted that but in a terminal you could try:

$> cat /proc/asound/cards

and

$> cat /proc/asound/devices

To see what devices the system thinks it has.

Did you make backups before uninstalling? Sometimes uninstalling a system app can have surprising bad effects so be careful with that. Good luck man
