Default What is com.htc

I am running an HTC wildfire that is kind of notorious for having very little internal memory (only 150 MB). I recently rooted it (after 18 months) and using titanium backup pro have uninstalled a lot of things not needed and would not jeopardize my system... google books; htc weather I have also moved some programs like facebook to the rom there by saving even more space (about 75 MB total). Thankfully though I now run pinterest, facebook, facebook messenger and even google voice I no longer need to clear cache every other day and/or do factory resets once a month.. hurray for superuser I also get to make calls using groveip.

One program that is still taking up space is com.htc (15.8MB) I can't find any info on it. I want to remove it but I don't know what it does or if it is important.

I think that's probably the main Sense UI. If you're going to uninstall system apps make sure you have a full nandroid back up first.

I removed a lot of the SEnse stuff when I had my Wildfire but boy did it breka certain UI elements. I can't recall if I removed com.htc, sadly.

To me it sounds important. If you wana test it though, i think(?) you could just freeze it and if things go wrong, boot into safe mode and unfreeze it.
Wait until someone can confirm that though because im not sure
As Nicka said though, if you have a nandroid then youre safe

I just spent some time reading and am not sure I see a difference between a recovery backup and a nandroid. Are they the same... I didn't run into that word until yesterday.

Same thing i think mate. you make a nandroid backup in recovery mode. it backs up a complete image of the phone
