Is Google Maps App out of Android Market?

I feel so stupid asking this question.

But I´m trying to find the Google Maps App in Android Market and I can´t find it!

Searching on the internet I can see that there was a new release last June and the Android Market site lists it as an available app.

Also, Google Maps site says to search for "Google Maps" in Android Market to get the latest release.

But I do that and find nothing!

Is it me? What am I doing wrong?

My T-mobile G1 had this app installed and working until today.

But I just rooted my phone and I don´t know why, the new ROM I flashed into doesn´t come with this app.

Anyway, I searched the Market and I can´t find it there. I find other Google stuff like Google Places and MyTracks but no Google Maps!

What is happening? Does anyone know?

The search in market is less than stellar. Try keeping your search terms simple. 'maps' worked for me.

Thank you guys.

Well, I tried all kinds of search "maps", "google", "google maps"....

And still got nothing!

Anyway, I found out that the ROM I flashed into my phone had an expansion pack to download which added lots of stuff including G. Maps.

Thanks for your help anyway!

Hi Nini,

I´m using a ROM called "TheOfficial TMO CRC1 - US v1.7.1".

I found it in this site with other ROMs:

AndroidSPIN: ROM Database v12.0

I tried other ROMs like Cyanogen and they didn´t work well on my G1 so I tried the Official one and it turned out to be the best one for me because it gave me the exactly same t-mobile look but with root access.

Now the phone is perfect!

I have a different problem with Google Maps. I seem to have v3.1.2 installed, which is what it comes with out of the box. My update notifier says there's a v4 available -- that may be so, but it's not available in the Market.

What gives? Any tips?

they have updated the version but not yet released it.

this 1 is a mistery for me, i know the rom your talking about but odnt see why you wouldnt have Google Maps

If you scan the barcode below it should take you straight to the Google Maps On the Market
