Default Missing Applications

It seems as though the Android Market is not showing some apps. These apps are visible through 3rd party sites like AppBrain and Cyrket, but when you navigate to the Market on your phone, they are unable to be found. I've compiled a list of apps and devices that people across various support forums have posted that they've had issues with. I have a feeling this is a pretty major issue and Google doesn't seem to know about it yet. I'm advocating that everyone that has an Android device, to check the list of apps below. If you've discovered a missing app not listed, please post below.

Post here if you find an app through AppBrain, but cannot access it in the Market on your phone.

Affected Apps:
SlideScreen
LauncherPro
ADW.Launcher
Handcent SMS
People/Contacts Widget
WatchDroid
Where
Better Contacts
WeGolf
Setting Profiles
NetSMS
Quick Settings

Affected Devices:
HTC Evo - 2.1
HTC Hero - 2.1 (Some apps are working)
HTC Desire - 2.1
Moto Droid - 2.0 and 2.1
Moto Milestone - 2.1
HTC Increctible - 2.1
Droid Eris

Let Google know about this! If you are having these issues please post in the following threads. The more people we can get to speak up the sooner we can get Googles attention.

Application is not updated in the android market - Android Market Help

App disappears from the Market after upgrade - Android Developers | Google Groups

Issue 8917 - android - Market doesn't show some app. on Sense - Project Hosting on Google Code

Same here. It was one of the Apps I was really looking forward to use on my Evo.

Anyways, I found some discussion on this topic:

Application is not updated in the android market - Android Market Help

Please help me bring this to Google's attention. It's been 3 days and not so much as a confirmation that there actually is an issue.

All AppBrain does is list the apps. It still relies on the Market to download and install the apps. If I click on SlideScreen in AppBrain on my phone, it just pulls up the Market and shows:

Ok, so this seems to affect HTC Sense 2.1 devices so far.

Thanks for the input.

I am not able to find the above mentioned apps either. From France, tested on a Motorola Milestone 2.1-update1 and an HTC Desire 2.1-update1.
My application is no longer visible either.
I hope Google gets this sorted out quickly.

Hmm..maybe that's why some apps I've selected in AppBrain don't show up for install?

Edit - Theory busted, searched and found what AppBrain doesn't show for some reason.

The problem is still ongoing. I've been cross-posting in as many forums as I can, and contacting as many Developers to help this gain traction. I've updated the main post to reflect more apps and devices that seem to be having this issue.

Seeing as this is affecting more than just the Evo, could a Mod please move this to the apps forum, and possibly a sticky pretty please?

It has been broken since friday last week as far as I can tell..

Apps with certain permissions simply disappear from the Market.

If Google could just come up with a status so we know they are at least aware of the problem..

Some applications, including mine, but NOT all, are showing up for some users.

The problem is not completely solved.

But Google is now working on it.

I'm on GSM HTC Hero official 2.1 and I've searched for 5 random apps from that list and all of them show (in free and paid variants), so no problems over here.

Despite what Google says problem has not been fixed. My guess is that they added the ones having large downloads but left other apps in the dark.

Another issue I've encountered is that the application shows up in AppBrain, it shows up on my phones market, I paid for the app, but its still trying to authorize purchase for the last 45 minutes. Program is SystemPanel App

A few days ago, I had the same issue you guys are referring to with handcent sms. had to go to their website forum and find the link by the developer to download it and install on the EVO.

The NYTimes is now reporting on this:

Quote:
This is one headline Google doesn't want to see this morning. Less than 24 hours after Apple introduced its latest and greatest creation, the iPhone 4, at its conference for Apple developers, a small, but growing group of Android developers are reporting issues with their updated applications disappearing from the Android Market.

[...]

According to the developers, the Android Market has stopped showing some applications. The apps are still visible through third-party sites like AppBrain and Cyrket, which serve as searchable repositories of current Android Market apps. However, when a user navigates to the Android Market on their mobile phone, the apps are nowhere to be found.

The issue seems to only be affecting applications that have been recently updated with bug fixes or new features. After the updated application is submitted, it disappears. Some older versions of the Android operating system can still see the apps in some cases, but the most recent versions of the OS (Android 2.0 and 2.1) cannot.

That means users with an HTC Evo, Desire, Hero, Droid, Incredible, Droid Eris or Moto Milestone are currently affected.

I still had a few small issues last night, but this morning everything seems to be ok.
From France, tested on Milestone and Desire, both running 2.1-update1, on Orange and SFR networks.
Hope everyone else is ok ?

I believe this was a separate issue: URGENT: Android market not processing orders as of 11:00AM 6/8 - Android Market Help

Did SystemPanel ever download for you? As far as I can tell all the orders from the afternoon did finally authorize. Some took up to four hours to authorize. Very sorry for the trouble, many other developers experienced the same problem (possibly the entire market).

I can't seem to find Ringtones, developed by Mabilo Android Team, in the market. It shows up in some of the search engines though. So I don't know if it is related to this or if the developer pulled the app. I have an EVO 4G. Anybody else have this problem or know why it isn't showing up?

ChillyWilly,
Could be a CP problem. You are running an offical EVO 4G or rooted ?
CP programs don't show up on unofficial phones.

I just downloaded tank recon about an hour ago, and it no longer shows up in a search. Also, Garden of Weeden is missing, all but one of its developers apps are now gone. Whatever is going on, it seems to be getting worse.

EDIT: Almost every app under my downloads seems to be missing when I search for it. If this issue is anything more than (very) temporary it's gonna be a big problem.

After a clean install today, I was unable to find appbrain, so I thought I'd just download MyBackup and reload my last backup. I was unable to find MyBackup, so I started crying.

After a little while they were both there again.

Good to hear it, and sorry again for the nonsense.

In other news, I've now been struck by the original problem: WebSharing and WebSharing Lite have disappeared. SystemPanel and SystemPanel Lite are still present.
