Default How to add and manage alarm, notification and ringtone sounds

You can add and manage your own sounds without a 3rd party app. manager

I use Astro to create the following directories:
/sdcard/system/media/audio/alarms

/sdcard/system/media/audio/notifications

/sdcard/system/media/audio/ringtones

I copied some n otifications from the root to alarms on sdcard, "heaven" is sweet to wake defaults

An old s60 trick, enjoy.

I originally used that method, however as I have several items I'd like to use BOTH as an Alarm or Notification or Ringtone, I didn't think it was a good use of space.

There is an excellent app called "Rings Extended" which will allow you to use any File Manager (such as Astro File Manager) as a browser to select a tone for Alarms, Ringtones and Notifications.

Ohh and it's FREE

Astro File Manager is also free and while it's not required for ringtone assignment it makes it MUCH easier to manage items on the SD card in general. Also FREE

Good Point But Yyur thinking Is flawed. Internal memory is More Important Than sd Card memory.

Well if you're memory is full sure that might be a concern, but with my Evo, I've got LOTS of apps and still plenty to spare

Also for reference memory shouldn't be a problem:
Rings Extended is a tiny 36k so that shouldn't be an issue.
Astro is a bit larger at 2megs, but then again other file managers will work just fine too and most people have at least one.
