Default Facebook?

Sorry if this post is redundant but I've searched and couldn't realy find anything. My question is, is there a Facebook app that is more like the blackberry version? One that actually alerts you when there are new comments, notifications, messages, etc... It really sucks you have to go in manually and refresh to see what notifications you have rather than it just telling you when you do like the blackberry version does.

Have you tried going onto the app, then going to settings to edit the notifications you want to receive? It checks for notifications as regularly as 30 minutes. I know it's not exactly push, but it's a solution

The official Facebook app has terrible notifications. Give Bloo a go.

It won't notify you of comments and wall posts like the Blackberry & iPhone apps.

If you go into Facebook you can have it email any alerts or posts that you recieve. I'm trying to figure out why people use an app for something that the internet browser does just fine, I just have it in my bookmarks.

Because launching the internet browser typically uses more of your phones resources than an app. The info from many apps can be accessed through the browser, but apps are usually faster to launch and the information is usually organized better. This is the whole point of having them.

With a good Facebook app (like Blackberry), you wouldn't need to receive Gmail notifications and then go to the internet browser to respond. It could all be integrated into one functional app.
