Just a side note, is it just me or do some people seem to get off mentioning what phones they have sometimes? I even saw people saying something like: "I hope this works for my incredible when I get it!" ... lol, really? We all have android phones, pretty moot to mention which one you have. Anyway...

We can already see which phone you have under your name lol And it's not just you, lots of people do this. I just find it funny, kinda reminds me of high school and/or a popularity contest.
There would be times when it's necessary for someone to say which phone they have. But it seems like alot of people really go out of their way to make sure people know they bought the newest phone. (Epeen for the win?)

Personally, I'm hoping that game devs read the threads, and understand that there is a class of user out there that don't buy cheap ass phones, and want to be able to take advantage of the hardware. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled thread.
haven't seen an rpg game built specifically for android. I have nintendo emulator running ff6 on android. Other than that... Zenonia is pretty cool too. It is not free though.
I have an ORIGINAL RPG for Android. It is called Broken Circle. It was originally beiong developed for Gameboy Advance but was never released. I have helped the original publisher port it to ANDROID. Check it out on the Android Market or Cyrket:
I also think it would be really cool like if we could use a bluetooth controller like the PS3 dualshock 3 for example with phones. I'm not so good at touch screen controls (although I haven't played much mobile gaming) I could get better but would still be a pretty cool feature.

Are there any good turn based RPGs? Besides ones for the emulators? Zenonia and the other one are cool, but they are action. I need some stuff I can play at while at work on the phone, hehe.
I wish it was that simple! i have an incredible and can not get the new backbreaker football game due to some kind of copyright issue between google and htc (best i can make of it anyway from posts on the net..) if you have a motodroid...you get it...incredible...nada!! both are on 2.1, so i dont know what else it could be.
that said, it does matter what phone you have in some cases!
Have any of you played the oldschool Y's RPG? I had it on a TgrfxCD system. Simply amazing storyline, and the Turbographix (sp?) was only 1/4 the power of these new smartphones. I'd actually pay for a fully ported version for my Incredible.
If I'm remembering correctly, it was on a few CD's too? I remember liking the music, since it was CD quality, and I remember really enjoying it from start to finish. Y's book 1 & 2 right? There isn't a TG16 emulator for Android yet is there? I can't believe how easy it is to get and play the NES, SNES and GBA games. (And they indeed work nicely on my Android powered Incredible.)
I would love to see either the Bard's Tale series or Eye of the Beholder series made into a game. I know there are some possibilities of playing those games through the adapters made for Android for NES/SNES/Genesis/etc... but all of those ports failed compared to the original PC versions in my mind. If I had any programming skills I'd be working on this tomorrow!
I did like Zenonia for a good while but later in the game it takes a lot of grinding to get money and exp which on my behalf was a lot of the same button mashing....made my finger sore and got boring doing that for hours. Still got my money worth out of it though, right now I am at the desert town after chronos. I need to find another game....a week of constant button mashing has really got to my hand (cause for my class melee is best due to either bad skills or high mp cost) though I haven't played the two other classes at all yet.

Kamyran's Eye is the only one I've found... and it sucks. plenty of potential, but it never made it....
I REALLY like the idea of using old NES/SNES roms. Besides the obvious FF series, any recommendations for games? I didn't get into em until the PS (FF7) days.
You will be able to play FF7 on your android fairly soon. Zodttd is working on his PSX emulator for droid, and its already much faster than the iPhone version.

My first thought was "hhmmm, it looks horrible"... But the idea is actually very cool! I really hope the controls are gonna improve and some good custom made RPGs come out of it
don't like the fighting in zenonia, i want a Final Fantasy like battle system from the early ones (1-5) or whatever, i haev SNESoid with FF3/6 on it. but i want a new one lol.

with the kind of hardware these phones are coming out with not later will we see a very good game with good graphics, I hear that zenonia was also released for the ds and since the android is really on its way to the top it will not be soon that a consumer market will have the demands for games, hence there will be games for it lots so it might be good for android users... not much games for rpg yet but hold your hopes a little while and for sure there will be ones coming out, and since the touch system is hard to play with expect a lot of those turn based rpg's to come out
Not trying to hijack anyone's thread, but i'm getting the samsung intercept soon. Will it be able to play these games pretty well? It's got the 800mhz arm11 with 256mb ram...
I have played Crusade of Destiny on my Itouch when i had it. The gameplay really isn't THAT bad, but the graphics are horrible, and it's mostly just grinding, killing, and hunting.... I really liked Zenonia on the itouch too.

I really wanted to load FF3 on my phone but I can't imagine Sabin's blitzes being very easy to execute with the touch screen controls. On the console he is one one of the most powerful characters but I fear he would be nearly useless on the phone. Can any of you playing FF3 on your phone comment on Sabin?
If you like classic TBS games, you might also want to check on Sw&Ear - Tales of Andaria.
Although the graphics is not much of an eye catcher, it is addictive as hell with a good difficulty curve.
Reminds me a little bit of a mix between Battle of Wesnoth and FF Tactics.
An MMORPG coming soon is Pocket Legends. It looks pretty cool and might be out before Thanksgiving for Android and early next year for PC. So you'll be playing with Ipod touch, Iphone, Ipad, Android and PC players all on the same server and world. Total cross platform.

But yea it looks really good and lot to do, plus it is on the cheap. Play to lvl 13 with 2 characters for free and then purchase the add on packs for more environments is the only thing required to make it further, currently lvl 50. Lots of changes in the game so the devs are VERY active and lots of people to play with, since this will be Iphone(out already) Android and PC. Tons of fun, and don't forget that you can use any platform to log into your account and play all on one server!!!
Did I mention the graphics rock for a phone platform game!!!

Have there been any good RPG games made for Android yet that I just can't find on the Market? I'm not talking about the online or MMO ones like Parallel Kingdom or Mafia Wars. More interested in single player ones kinda like the old Final Fantasy's or Final Fantasy Tactics.

Try Legends Arcana, Path of a Warrior, Caligo Chaser, and Zenonia. Will be doing reviews of those here soon... Wish someone would do an online MMO-style game like the ones I used to play on BBS's, all text, etc. Zork, mebbe.
If you are into old-school dungeon crawls, then you might find Deadly Dungeons interesting. I am currently developing the game with hopes to release it January 1st.

The games do cost soo if your willing to pay the small ammount they are only 4.99 usd soo thats not bad compaired to how good the games are. let me know any feedback and if you guys like there games also or if you guys know any other sites for mobile games.
I can't help but think you work for Gameloft. A), similar English and writing style the developers and customer support have, B), your first and only post on the forums is promoting their game(s) and C), it is a game that has been out for quite some time (not a recent release as you say it is).
Sorry that you think i work for that site i mentioned but i dont. As i said im new to the Phones and game things soo thats why im here. I only found this place random on google just like that other site. Also as i asked in last post i would also like any suggestions of other sites for games. Im just trying to help people find some decent games as well as myself. That game i mentioned was only just reliesed to android, it was origonally made for Iphone earlier this year. Overall i think its a decent grafix rpg style game. the other ones i seen here were more like super nintendo ones or nes style cartoonish ones. I suppose it all depends on what your taste is. I released an RPG recently on Android titled Acedia RPG. You can search for it in the market. There is a lite version to try before you buy. It is a retro RPG that was inspired by old CRPG like the early Ultima series. Those were some of my favorite games back in the 80's and I wanted to see something similar for Android. The graphics and gameplay are basic but I like how it turned out. Give it a try!

I m not sure if you gonna be interested in this one but so far the best game and fastest growing (#5 in TOPRPG in 20 day) is Sold To Army .
I m playing that game for 20 days and is awesome , apart from game you can win real items .Now there is 12MP Kodak to win .
