These are the games ive tested on my Samsung Vibrant with psx4droid emulator, using various types of .iso .bin .img and .pbp eboots:
FYI: Many rom lockup issues have happened for me with the game intro videos, so I just skip past them as quickly as possible by pressing the start button, etc.
Diablo (works and runs average speed)
Brave Fencer Musashi (works and runs fast)
WipEout (works and runs fast)
Command & Conquer Red Alert (works and runs fast, minor video sound crackles)
Doom / Doom 2 / Final Doom - None Work (loading issue) Im hoping to get a saved state from past the main screen and see if that works
FF7 (works and runs average speed with minor sound crackles)
Hexen - Beyond Heretic (works and runs average speed)
Mega Man Legends 1 - (Works and runs fast with minor sound crackles)
Mega Man x4 - (WORKS RUNS FAST)
Need For Speed 4 - High Stakes (works with minor sound crackles, game play has a fair amount of slowdown, but also did on my real ps1 anyway)
Quake 2 - (works and runs average/slow speed, lots of sound crackles)
Twisted Metal 2 (Works and runs average / fast)
Twisted Metal 3 (freeze at loading bar screen)
Warhawk - (Freezes on load for me - could be bad version)
The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to aronck For This Useful Post:
FF7 - works but unplayable at the submarine/underwater area. I used a pc psx emulator to pass this and to kill the Emerald weapon.
Breath of Fire 4 - works but there's an invisible wall and you get stuck at the cliffs in the beginning. used a pc psx emulator to pass this but there'a another invisible wall at the gardens when playing as fou-lu
Brave Fencer Musashi - works
Grandia - works

Reason: typo
FF7 - Minor sound issues, minor stutter on some cut scenes, underwater section UNPLAYABLE.
FF8 - Sound issues, no audio during many cut scenes, cut scene videos also stutter
FF9 - Sound issues again, otherwise runs great.

tryed over 15 different games, none of them have worked to even the slightest degree. either its an invalid file type (over 50% of them are unspported completely while 1 or 2 are just buggy as hell). or it just simply doesnt work. like armored core has no ground thats solid.... ever and front mission 3 cant actualy make it into an in game state.. is this thing a joke? have a been schamed here? realy annoying. it for all intensive purposes should work. can some on give me some link to a site or something designed for this heap of junk so that i can get a game that works. this thing is so unsuported its just not funny.

Considering that this your first post and you just came in nagging without offering much detail while everyone else is having no issues likes yours guess what I think....either you are the most unluckiest person in the world or just wanted to troll...
Anyone with the slightest bit of logic should be able to understand that if everyone else is able to play games and he is the one not having success that maybe just maybe the problem is just his setup...
Gran turismo: works, loads, menus are fine, but once you get into a race, as soon as you accel off the line, starts spasming gas and brake, making it undriveable. have tried different bios vers. and remapping keys, no luck.
Copy the memcard in the psx4droid folder to the pc then use a pc emulator to play the underwater area. Save to a save point the s, copy the memcard back to the sdcard psx4droid folder. That's how i got past the underwater area

Yep, did this last night, bit of a pain but kind of fun playing with my 360 controller.
Can someone please help me? How do you get the PSX to plays the bios files? I've downloaded numerous different roms and everytime I pick one it says I have to specify file in settings or something like that
Aw many. i still have my original FF7 game but not Legend of Dragoon. I see someone posted LoD and thats prolly my fav RPG of all time. Might have to go and check this thing out.
Are you getting the bios message anymore? if so then try downloading it from a different link or site. If its the "not supported message" then you need to try a different rom or rom source.

you have to get the psx bios (hint use google)
then put it anywhere in your sd card , then in the psx4droid menu button -> settings
then press on the first option , specify the .bin bios file and you are done
Just something I think people need to keep in mind, especially those new to emulation:
Many of the errors and things I've read so far seems to remind me of some of the same things that have either existed forever on psx or aren't resolvable until Gingerbread comes out. They seemed to have made the optimizations to base architecture of android, in that, speeding up the draw-times was merely a side effect of doing thing like optimizing the way java code is processed. Gingerbread actually targets the 2d and 3d acceleration processes and shaders themselves which makes me excited simply because everything should get a whole lot faster than it sits now at froyo, it should be better for you all that like the Emus too.
If I remember correctly, way back in the 'day,' when psx emulation was young and voodoo 3dfx was still a recognizable name in graphics, all the ffs suffered from lag during their cut-scenes (especially ff8, basically the same run-stop-run, if it didn't just disintegrate into a thousand unrecognizable blocks of color) and on the world maps glitched, lagged, and locked up. None of this is new and without access to more efficient drawers 2d and 3d I doubt there's anything the maintainers of these emus can do until the google-verizon-motorola-htc-etc team(s) get the rev. to Gingerbread. I am not sure about the collision detection in xenogears though, that sounds more like something that is fixable within the emulator, but if it's not happening in many other games as well they'll have trouble pinning down what's wrong. Though low-3d redraw rates can lead to many collision detection issues, so it might get fixed after all.
Furthermore your phones are only going ever to be good at playing certain kinds of games, without having to constantly lug around some sort of wireless rf controller with you, the one on the screen just won't cut it for most games that require heavy use of all 10 keys. Many people it looks like are running into this problem in the comment section at the market place and don't seem to get that the developer is quite limited in helping them there.
Encountered a hang up on FF IX on Nexus one running 2.2. On disc 1 after boarding the airship for the 1st time, the fmv cut scene hangs up and freezes. Passed it using a pc psx emulator. Am now in Lindblum.

Legend of Legaia runs smoothly but freezes at the end of the practice fight. Haven't tried downloading another rom to make sure it is not the emulators fault.
I need some help with Diablo...I am running it on the Samsung Epic... it works and all, but when i get to like level 2 it goes to the file explorer for the emulator. I assume it is looking for the next part of the game. I have all parts but in each zip the files are named exactly the same..for example NEW.img...NEW.sub. Each Zip has 3 of these files, and there are 11 zips. I have copied the contents of the 2nd zip file and it renamed them NEW(1).zip etc..when I select it in the emulator it just restarts the game. Can someone please tell me how to make it so I can play each level? Or maybe how I should name the files to make the transition from level to level playable
Should I just download an ISO version of the game? That includes everything in one file correct?

Can some one please (Im begging now), explain to me the easiest way to get a game to play on this app since it doesn't work like the other emulators. I even used rom buddy PSX and the games still wont play
Step 1) download app
Step 2) download SCPH1001.bin from google
Step 3) make a folder in the root of your phone called psx
Step 4) put the SCPH1001.bin into your psx folder
Step 5) go on your phone, open the emulator click find bios and select the scph1001.bin located in your psx folder.
Step 6) download the rom of your choosing, unzip everything until you get the game files, drag and drop those into the psx folder
