Hi Everybody ,
We are very excited to share a sneak Preview Video (work in progress) of "Spectral Souls - Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires" a Tactical RPG coming end of this year for android. The game is a full scale Tactical RPG with hundreds of hours of gameplay packed with Hires Graphic for all fan of the Spectral Souls Characters and for all the others who are waiting for a tactical RPG on android. We will be presenting "Spectral Souls - Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires" (Beta) along with our ExZeus arcade at the next Google developer day in Tokyo this coming Tuesday (28th September).
This is really a work in progress so there is still a lot to finish and hard work to do but we are very happy and excited to bring that franchise on android

Woow! Amazing! This is exactly what I want, a game like Final Fantasy Tactics. I hope its hard and the storyline is good. If you can upgrade your skills using certain weapons (similar to the Final Fantasy Tactics system) I will be a happy panda.
Also, I am not complaining but you guys should pay attention to the songs/sounds/soundtrack, any mistake and you can make an annoying soundtrack, which is even more noticeable in this kind of game.
But hey! This game looks amazing, I can't wait for the beta!
Yes, the universe of "Spectral Souls" is already available on PS2 / PSP / PS3 and Xbox360 in Japan. Android will be the first mobile platform to get this kind/genre of Tactical RPG.

The game will be as deep and hard as one could expect from a Final Fantasy Tactics on mobile if it was existing, this is really a big RPG game packed with lot of graphics for a mere total of 1GB data so be sure to have some space left on your SDCARD
About the soundtrack, that is be cause it is not finished yet and it is missing the Sound Effect, at the end the balance will be different, the game has more than 50 original quality musics, so it will be anything but boring , we will have also cut-scene videos (not yet implemented on that preview).
Yes, the game has an extensive "synthetize" system for weapons and skills, and you can upgrade them along your journey, you can play also with different characters and even swap from 3 different armies on the main map, the game is very deep and packed with lot of drama & plot

Omg... 1gb? Seriously? This game is gonna be epic!
I wonder if the full version will be released this year and if the game will cost less than 10 bucks. I hope so!

Omg awesome game! Also, the music rocks! Instant buy once released! Also, 1gb on the sd card is no problem if it means a very high quality game such as this

Looks awesome; unfortunately, it also looks like it won't run on my Sprint Hero. In such a case, will you guys have an option for more simplistic graphics on lower end phones?
just hope it appears in market or appbrain for easier purchase..
i am seriously doubting handango service now
There are many people (indcluding Devs) from the Blackberry community that REFUSE to use Handango because of their service and their agreements with the Devs.
Am I the only one who has played the game? Well here we go. If you like tactical RPGs, you should like this one. Now someone asked, or mentioned, they hope its hard and long. It's long alright, it took me upwards of 75 hours to beat on the psp, but I did all the side stuff I could find.
Is it hard? Not really. Here's the thing, once you get a feel for the system, it is easy to manipulate. So it can be hard, especially at first, but once you understand how to set up combos and group attacks it gets a lot easier. Once you are leveled up a bit, you can start one shotting mobs. By one shotting, I mean you move two or three characters and start up a chain and the mob is dead. Chain attacks can hit 100+ times, and get ridiculous damage (there are videos of like 17 million damage, but I never bothered with that)...but they look really cool.
I still recommend getting this game, as I really enjoyed it. There are A LOT of characters you can get and use (some of which are really bad ass), different endings, and you can switch empires on the fly. Switching empires isn't necessarily what it sounds like it is, it's more like you play all empires and kind of meet in the middle (or towards the end). So it isn't you picking one side and going that route, you will play all sides. How you play them and in what order has an impact on the story and overall ending.
I hope a lot of people pick this up, so they port over the rest of the series. So far in America, its just this (on PSP) and Spectral Force 3 on the 360. I think this one counts as part 2, so we are missing part 1 in the US that I'm aware of. There's a Spectral Force Genesis on the DS also, came out a few months back, but it's a different type of Strategy game (I haven't played it).
If anyone has questions about it, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer as best I can remember, it's been like two years since I played it.

excellent looking preview! is this preview the actual android in game gameplay?
thumbs up! will be waiting for this! I hope we can have alternative way of purchasing this too, instead of just the market (some regions cant see paid apps in the market, so..)
umm...is it just me that thinks the menus are not touch friendly ?
for the touch only devices , it'll be hard to chose from the menus (unless the control is using an on screen D-pad + buttons, but a full touch interface would be better IMHO)
I didn't really like the art that much , but the game looks promising , still getting it when it's out

Thank you,
Yes it is the actual in game gameplay which means it is real time graphic displayed , not a video of some sort

So talking about this, we just got some good news from Google so hopefully by the time of the release, a larger audience will be able to access and enjoy "Spectral Souls - Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires" on their android devices :
"over the next 2 weeks, users in 18 additional countries will be able to purchase paid apps from Android Market" : Android Developers Blog
Now back to the game itself, starting middle of next week, we will be posting details about Characters and Background Story for those who are not (yet) familiar with the "Spectral Souls" universe , so stay tuned :P
Thanks everybody , we'll keep you informed on the progress of the game and like we wrote already, we shall be starting provide characters details starting this week , i guess from this coming wednesday
If by "demo" you mean a "lite" version of "Spectral Souls" then the answer is "no" however the "full" game will be available for trial at the Google's android market.
So here we are, when you start the game you'll be playing "Naiz" so here is a little background about this character and his role :
Naize is a young stranger traveling the world of Neverland.
He was forced to fight against the Fitishia Liberation Army when they mistook him for a Neverland soldier. Afterwards, he joined the Liberation forces, which would later become the Reformed Simba Empire under Commander Leila. He does not support the war, but he fights nonetheless to understand why such a war began in the first place. He is quiet and determined, with a strong sense of morals. His swordcraft is among the best in the world.
Leila is the Head Commander for the entire Simba Empire armed forces. Her village was attacked when she was a teenager, and despite severe injuries she picked up a sword and tried to defend the town. Ankrauser found her there and took her under his wing, teaching her the many arts of war. She's the only female commander in the Simba Army, a testament to her undeniable abilities. She is secretly in love with Ankrauser, but her lingering shame and humiliation prevents her from telling him how she really feels.
Marx is a young man yearning to be a hero. When the Demon Army began its initial insurgence, the Fitishia Liberation Army quickly formed in response. Marx was orphaned due to war, and so he was eager to join the crusade to bring the war to a quick end. He wants to be known as a Neverland hero, but more than anything he wants to prevent any more children from being orphaned by the horror of war."
Cowrin is a magician trained in the magic capital, Galena.
He was orphaned by war and grew up in an orphanage with Marx, his best friend to this day.
With the Neverland raid on his home, he and Marx decided to join the Fitishia Liberation Army. His hatred for war and its instigators drives him. He is kind, level-headed, and earnest. He often looks after Marx, who rarely thinks before he acts. But on occasion, Corwin has been known to act a little silly himself.
Wage is an unusual, draconian reptile. After the Second Neverland War, he went to work for the Imperial Neverland Army. He dislikes war and believes the Neverland forces are the only ones capable of bringing peace to the land. He is generally calm and low-key, but like all of his race, he can be terrifying and lethal in battle.
Please make it High-res so the game looks good on my Samsung Epic. I hate playing anything low res
It will be HI-RES by default (assets are HI-RES ) and the game will provide the exact same option to downgrade the resolution (like the new option provided on our ExZeus arcade) for those with "middle-end" devices who prefer higher framerate VS graphic quality (if you look at the youtube video and set it to 480p, you will notice the game is already running on the Samsung Galaxy S at the full 854x480 resolution )
