I just made my first android game. Its called walkabout - the idea is to collect all the stars on each level, but as you walk the path beneath you disappears. You need to think about your route or you'll be stranded!
The market link for the free version with less levels is:
Device(s): LG Optimus One P500, Samsung Galaxy I7500L

It's a nice puzzle game. It would be nice to be able to move around using the d-pad instead of using the touchscreen for phones that have this feature.
Thanks I spent about 5 days trying to optimise it. There's only so much I can do tho. The menu's are slow on very slow phones (528mhz with < 256 mb memory) because the GPU cant push the big background images through its pipeline very fast. BUT in game its playable.
Let put it this way the samsung Galaxy i7500 with 192mb ram and 528mhz processor can run it I'm looking for a wildfire testing now!
DaSchmarotzer: I'll be sure to add it in an update very soon Its added to my list!
Please rate, and leave a comment... I got a fair amount of downloads but people dont seem to like to comment! Getting exposure on these games is so hard without an advertising budget I appreciate the help guys.
There's an issue with touch events on Motorola Droid phones. You may have the same issue. I'm working hard on a fix, and I hope to have it working in the next few days.
Sorry for the inconvenience
PS. if you would like to help me fix it by trying a test build please pm me

Hi! Thanks for the feedback - i'm keeping notes on suggestions Just to give you some feedback in return..
1) I'll add a few more movement modes in a future update for sure - tap on a square to move there, tap left/right/top/bottom screen to move in that direction, and swipe your route (swipe the route you want to take from 1 to whatever squares and it'll make that move in one go.
This will come when I add other things like a time challenge mode with randomly generated levels. I'll always have the normal mode with hand crafted levels of course, but the time challenge allows me to add multiplayer support This is a big job because it involves a path finding algorithm and calculating good/bad/awful target times on the fly.
2) My idea was to add a bunch of strings for various results (3 star, 2 star, 1 star, found key, not found key) and then pick one at random so its not so boring. But I ended up busy with optimisations and never got around to it. I'll definitely be adding that in the future.
I also have a lot of other ides that will get added eventually!
The graphics (the tiles in game) are from LostGarden. The level screens, titles and other bits and pieces I made myself along with some resources I found on the net. The music is a free midi loop I converted and processed in audacity to make it loop as an mp3 (wasnt easy - timing info gets lost in mp3 format :/)
Just updated to 2.0.1, and unlocked a bunch more levels in the Lite version
More levels for Paid version on their way!
V2.0.1 is up on the market. Please try that one and make sure its running ok.
Changes:
- 17 levels in the Lite version
- Graphics re-rendered for brighter colours on LCD screens
- Misc bug fixes
- Wakelock reinstated to fix suspend issues with some slow devices

In case you don't know about GetJar, its one of the oldest app stores, and the biggest free app store in the world. They're offering select apps for free. There's some very big names there too ilke Gamelion (Doodle Fit), Konami’s (Krazy Kart Racing), Imperio, Handy Games ‘Guns ‘n’ Glory, Herocraft’s ‘Farm Frenzy’ and TouchType’s ‘SwiftKey X’.
From a developer perspective they pay me a small amount per download. So please go check it out, its free for you, and every download generates me a small amount of money to work on my next indie game (even if you don't like it and uninstall it!)

PS. ignore the '0 downloads' stats there, it only just came out and those stats won't update till tomorrow!
