Default Newton - Physics Game

Hi,

i'd like to tell you a little about my new game Newton, a physics based puzzle game heavily inspired by gravity pods. You are the owner of a gravity gun that shots particles. The particle has to hit a target while avoiding various obstacles. To aid the particle in reaching its goal various elements can be used.

I know it's yet another puzzler, but i still hope some of you aren't that sick of this genre. Give it a try

I'd love to see some comments from you and welcome critical feedback. You can find the application on the market, just search for newton.

Thanks for reading,
Mario

Wow hard game but its great! Well done with it, would suggest making the text more readable. I still haven't completed the current levels yet!

Thanks a lot for giving it a try! I'm working hard on an update so if you have any suggestions or complaints let me know about them. I'm not entirely happy with the gun controlls and a couple of levels in the demo are insanely hard. I'll probably add the editor to the full version as it's easy to use and also works on the device. If it's not to much spam i keep you updated

Playing the game right now and I'm enjoying it.
1. Text is easy to read when my eyeballs are touching the screen
2. Having the volume on 1 is the same as having it on 10.
3. Maybe make the fire button transparent and change it from a square to another shape, dunno.
4. I noticed you wrote "shot" instead of "shoot" in the beginning tutorial.

Clever game you got here, and I'm here to support ya.

edit: 5. Maybe a level # indicator in the corner?

Hi,

thanks for the kind feedback!

+ I will replace the font and change it's size in the next version. A lot of people already complained about that.
+ When changing the volume via the keys on the phone ingame you are only altering the ringtone volume. This is due to the fact that 99% of the time no multimedia is played in game ( e.g. sound effects ), so android thinks you want the ringtone volume to be changed. I try to see wheter i can find a solution for this problem. At the moment you can only disable/enable sound in the main menu (lower right corner, it's a little checkbox ).
+ yes, the buttons in game don't fit the theme well at the moment. sadly this is all i could come up with my programmers mind . I will have my girlfriend take a look at it and let her redo some of the user interface elements.
+ my bad, there's probably a couple of other typos in there. i'm not a native speaker but am trying my best to avoid such things. Thanks for pointing it out, will fix it in the next release!

Very valuable comments indeed! Keep them coming and thanks a bunch.

Great concept game, had a lot of fun with the demo. Looking forward to updates.

One issue that I had was difficulty moving the pushers/pullers/deflectors, the screen kept panning instead of picking up/selecting the object. Can you tweak the sensitivity or add that as an option?

Hi,

i wil increase the hit areas of pushers and pullers a bit. deflectors need to be enlarged level design wise, i will rework the levels with tiny deflectors.

Graphically i'm currently experimenting with a little 3D, but to this moment it looks worse than the simple 2D version. I'm not entirely sure where to go with the graphics.

There's a small update in store that fixes some glitches. No new levels as i couldn't find the time for making new ones yet.

update: well, i tried to give a bit of a 3dish look. That's what i came up with

Not as good as Polarbit graphics, but that's all i could come up with. Suggestions are more than welcome!

yikes. i really liked the 2d better. especially since you have to make very precise adjustments, it just makes the shapes weird.

Hi,

i just uploaded a new Version (1.3) that let's you select between 2D and 3D. It also features local and global highscores on a per level basis. This is the last release before the final release which will also include the Level Editor and means to upload and share levels.

Hope you like. I'd be happy to get some feedback from you guys.

Mario
edit: bug fixed, update to version 1.3

I really like the game! Good work. I think just some work on the graphics is all it really needs. Maye pretty up the background? Give the shapes some texture?

Also, maybe once you release the final, you could work on an additional "Official" level pack?

Great game though, keep up the good work!

Hi,

thanks for trying it! I know the graphics are a bit meh, but i'm a lone coder not able to draw anything remotely interesting. So i guess the graphics will pretty much stay as they are

Concerning new levels: I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the editor component. After that it's back to level design for a week. I will add 5 new levels to the lite version, the full version will have around 80-90 new levels depending on how creative i get. I will try to constantly add new levels and also hope that people will use the oportunity the editor gives them to create and share their own levels.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
