Default [GAME][FREE]"180" wild action-puzzler, buy full version or get it free w/ NO ADS

Available at the Android marketplace here

Our game has a unique new monetization method - buy "Ultra" version for $1.99 and all features are unlocked from the start. Or play the ad-supported free version, as cumulative gameplay time passes you will unlock all features and at the 10-hour mark all ads will disappear forever - both versions will be identical.

No one has tried this monetization method before; help support us and we can make all of our games this way!

DESCRIPTION:
Easy for anyone to learn in a minute, but deep enough to challenge the most extreme players. Fans of classic games like Tetris Attack and Bust-a-Move will love the new "shoot and flip" mechanic!

180 is an insane flipping match-3 drop action puzzle game! Launch coins into three-in-a-rows to clear the vertically-descending board. Play alternate colors by flipping coins 180 degrees at any time. Create incredible combos and be rewarded with HUGE scores - just don't let the coins touch the red line at the bottom, or it's game over!

FEATURES:
- Multiple game modes and characters, with big updates in development now! Watch for Mutliplayer, Tablet Mode, Casual Mode
- OpenFeint achievements & leaderboard tracking
- High-rez HD graphics look great on your tablet! "Lo-fi mode" will run on older devices too!
- Multiple gameplay secrets, can you figure them out?

HEADCASE GAMES:
This is our 1st Android title! We are expats from the big studio dev houses who have worked on some of your favorite games (Guitar Hero, Neverwinter Nights, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Alpha Protocol). After starting in iOS development we are making a splash on Android with the first release in what will be an impressive lineup of games to come! Support us and we will bring you more of what you want: great games, fully-featured for the awesome price of FREE!

I think those who try this game will have a hard time putting it down, it's done very well on "that other platform" and we have gone to considerable lengths to make this version much more polished. It's quite simple at first, but play for a few minutes and see if you don't get sucked into it as well. Please give it a try and give impressions in this thread - thanks, and enjoy!

well, it's been a hectic day. Reddit took to the game and we've been getting a lot of downloads for sure.. a couple other nice articles popped up giving us some decent exposure as well. Wonder what tomorrow will bring

here's a youtube of the original (lower-tech) iPhone version from last year. Starts out pretty easy going but gets quite hairy about 0:25 in

It's fun. Super fun. Easy to pick up and lovely to look at. One thing, though. Since it has different characters, maybe they could have different super powers? Some kinds of power-ups, special tiles or something. Would be king. And a bar that increases as you play flawlessly and that also determines the power of the power up.

Still, loveable.

thanks for the kind words

Yeah as it is, the characters are meant to be like in Bust-a-Move (just there for aesthetic). During development we started designing charging meters/unique abilities for them, but it was making the gameplay goals lopsided compared to what we were trying to go for (and it was starting to draw out the development process too much). We decided to leave them in, but with the thought that if we decide to make further iterations of the game we'd definitely look into using the characters more interactively. There's a long way to go with this concept and ideas aren't hard to come up with, we just need to see if there's enough interest for us to proceed. Thanks for checking out our game

I got a chance to try the game, but I must say that I didn't have a lot of time last night to fully give it a go. I will say that it looks like it is very nice and I will be keeping it around to give it a more thorough run through. I had no problems with the game play except I am a bit slow on it. Maybe I was tired, but found it a bit tough at first. I am sure I would get better if it wasn't in the middle of the night.

Game looks great and plays real well on my Nook Color. Great job on it..

thanks for checking it, would love to see it on a Nook myself

The game is fairly easy once you spend some time with it and learn some techniques - we slanted it a little on the "more difficult" side (like an old-school game) so it would ramp up in intensity and get much more fun to play as you figure it out a bit, rather than be too easy and just get boring. Once you learn all the abilities the game mechanics give you, it becomes pretty easy to knock out huge chunks of coins like it was second nature.

Please help support us and spread the word on this game (especially as it is free), I am trying really hard to get some support in the Android market and I'd love to put out more awesome games on this platform. If you guys want that, let's work together

We released an update late yesterday which will run a lot smoother on older handsets which might have been hitting a performance wall with the previous version.

If you have a higher-end phone and it is still autodetecting a lower setting, you can try manually forcing to a higher resolution by doing the following input at the title screen:

STATS-OK-STATS-OK-CREDITS-OK-STATS-OK

this will cycle through Force SD, Force HD, and Force Auto-detect ("factory setting")

To make the adjustment "take" you need to Force Stop the app (even if you've quit out of it). Android/Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/180/Force Stop

Both versions - updated on Android Market last night to 2.2, fixed a bug that caused the music to play over the lock screen. We're working on a fullscreen version as well (no more letterbox)

Would appreciate if any of you who are using the ad-supported version (but not ever seeing ads) could test and report if that has changed. Thank you!

We were featured as Amazon App of the Day last week, if you missed it! Got plenty of nice reviews from that fickle crowd, so if you are on the fence you might have a look.

In other news, I am beginning development of a completely different type of game, hopefully due in about 2 months or so. This next one will be a side-scroller and I think you folks will like it

Update 3.1.1 released a couple of days ago. Fixed a bunch of bugs, full-screen display (this was a ton of work!!)

I am putting together a "tips & tricks" guide for 180 right now, to show you how to take advantage of some of the deeper secrets of the gameplay! Feel free to post some of your own techniques into this thread and they might make it into the guide.

Also we have just launched on the Nook store a few days ago as well!

we are fortunate to be enjoying a nice promotion of our app on Nook right now! To celebrate, we've released this free strategy guide to explain the ins and outs of our game. Enjoy!

And look for more news from us (regarding 180, and other products) shortly!
