can you give us a ball park on what you are thinking about charging?
ExZeus requires Android OS 1.6 minimum because of its ARM native code and is designed for latest phone with wide screen with decent GPU, the HTC hero ( close to HTC dream) might be a "little" too short to play this game....but we have another cool game, 2D thought, "LoveCatch" that runs smoothly on your device , I agree that the "genre" is quite different

You did lovecatch too?? Wow, two of the most polished games on android come from the one dev, fair play!
I would urge you to put them on slideme so people outside of the pitiful number countries that currently have access to paid apps can get them too.

I'd love it if you could get it to run on the Hero, it would be a definite purchase for me. Maybe once it gets the official update to 2.1 you can take a look into it.
It is listed in the Arcade /Action section, you need OS 2.x, if your OS is lower than 2.x then Google Android's market will filter and it wont be visible on your device....
Wow, thats hot. I would pick it up as well if I could, but I'm stuck on a Hero for now.
If HTC was to upgrade the Hero 2.1 I take it that it still wouldn't work since it's not yet working on the Nexus One running 2.1 as well?
I see now how the iPhone has the leg up on Android. They don't have to program games/apps for a plethora of slightly different devices. If screen sizes and processors and available memory etc. are all a significant factor in how a game is made, Android is going to have a really hard time in the gaming department.

Google introduced the NDK to developers (Native Development Kit) for phone with support for OS 1.6 and 2.x only(if you want to use openGL native), that is "our" real segmentation indeed (if you want to talk about "gaming" on android).
For a developer, OS 1.5 means JAVA pure only application, no way to have native code running. Native code is necessary to release the full power of your device like shown in ExZeus arcade or LoveCatch (which runs fine on a HTC hero with 1.6 OS).
Normally OS update should be released by now but it seems that a lot of phone just cannot access their 1.6 or 2.x update and that is very sad as those phone owners cannot enjoy new generation game.
We hope android phone maker will realize the importance to release OS update for their customers and we hope also that we won't see new android phone shipped with the OS 1.5 as this is really a step back reducing the possible gaming experience, well, if you want games for your phone because for everyday use 1.5 is doing the job well
It may be that we are into a transition period and that soon.. all android will be running 2.x, the segmentation would, then, slowly vanish and the market would be more homogeneous
PS: regarding HTC hero, while our upcoming Nexus 1 version should run on it technically, it will have poor performance and poor framerate because there is no decent GPU and no FPU processor.

When we will have our universal binary (for qualcomm and powerVR gpu), we will study the alternate way of distribution for ExZeus, you see, it is hard to maintain several version of an application. We have also our custom way to deliver the data straight to the sdcard and we must be sure that it is working also with the other shops. The trial period of 24H is also very important for us and we want to be sure that this is also available for customers buying outside Google's android market
I went ahead and rooted my phone and installed market enabler just to get this game - it's awesome! The calibration of controls is so handy - means you can play at any angle!
It looks like the HTC Hero will never see any of the good looking games then. Which is a shame considering lots of people we convinced it'd be targeted by developers for some time to come, due to it being so widespread.
Hi everybody, we just pushed the ExZeus update 1.1, so we have the Nexus 1 support (and similar spec phone) and we have also added 3D sound to the game, we hope the update will work and install smoothly as it is the first time we push an update on the android market
Great Game...I was looking and saw only like 500 ppl bought this so far. Come on guys you guys you gotta support this Dev I want this team to keep making games for the Droid. They are definatly one of the only developers making use of the system and I want them to keep coming back.

It just needs a little more marketing. No one can buy it if they dont know about it.
@hyperdevbox I just purchased the game for my N1 and it's great. I sugest that you try to contact many of the android blogs(phandroid, androidandme, androidcentral) and get a review. I'm sure this will boost your sales!!!
I immediately bought it yesterday, but had to return it today, because it was unplayable for me.
I always ended hitting the home or return button and landed back at the homescreen and since there is no resume option, I always had to start over again.
I'm pretty sure it has to do with multitouch, when I don't lift my left finger when firing, strange things happen.
I played the first Level a dozen times and could only complete one run through without a resume function. We have multitasking in Android and I always use it, if you could just pause the game instead of closing it, I will immediately rebuy it.
I would also prefer pure on screen controls, but maybe I just need to train more with tilt controls.

Hi,
Have you tried to reverse/flip the phone ? If you go to the option screen, you have an option to flip the whole screen, that could help for some people hitting the homescreen with right hand, maybe you'll hit now with left hand, but you could give it a try.
As for the return button, it will pause the game during the "main" game part, so it wont escape the game, we will try to see if there is a way to intercept the home key as we have done for the return key, so far no success but maybe it is possible...
It just needs a little more marketing. No one can buy it if they dont know about it.

Yes, I tried that, it was better ( that's where I had my one run-through), but it happened there, too.
I don't hit the home key myself, it sometimes get's pressed, when two touch events happen at the same time at the height of the homescreen button, so this has nothing to do with my coordination, it's a design flaw of the capacitive buttons, that I and for sure Hyperdevbox was not aware of.
i bought this game on friday and must say it is amazing best droid game ive tried yet. Worth every cent and i gotta practice cause i cant make it past the 2nd stage it would be nice for different difficulty settings

Thank you for buying ExZeus,
In the option screen, you can set different difficulty levels for both enemies and bosses, try lower them until it is displayed "beginner" on the bottom
