games you wish were made for android
i don't understand people who wanna play racing or fps games on a phone - just makes no sense to me - which is why i've stuck with puzzles like opensudoku, the phit series and summing cells
i've also tried a couple of tower defense games, which i generally like, but been underwhelmed (no paid apps over here btw)
anyway, i've thought for a long time that the heroes of might & magic series would be absolutely brilliant on a touchscreen phone and i just remembered an old classic that's just begging to be remade on one: jagged alliance 2
so, what are some other games you think would play well on android?
comments on my picks are obviously also welcome

I really dont like playing games like that on a phone. I think they should be left on the PC. The inaccuracy of selections and option button pushes is awful. Not to mention I never play my phone for more than 5 - 10 mins at a time. Perfect for a deathmatch, race, or level or two of a puzzler, but not to strategically get involved in a command & conquer esque game!
The best game i have on my phone at the moment is Armageddon Squadron, followed by Flying Aces, followed by speed forge (bit of an aero theme here i hadnt noticed!).
I also like innovative, yet touch-screen suitable, puzzle games like Totemo or Go Go Rescue Squad.
Anyway that's what i think. Each to his own though!

that's easily overcome by making the graphics large enough - you can always scroll

the thing about homm and ja2 is that they are both completely turn based, so you can intuitively play for 10 mins, pause and play another 10 mins the next day (and by playing at that frequency, likely finish the game just before getting your next phone )
games that require speed are the ones i'd leave for the pc (c&c and other rts' included), because with a slow game you're in no hurry to hit the right button, so a phone's inevitably poor controls become a non-issue

Ye your arguments are fair enough, I just have no interest in playing those types of games anywhere but a PC - I won't even use a laptop's trackpad, have to have a mouse! I like to do things quickly and need the speed.
Tbh i dont really care what genres of games come out for android, as long as they start getting more polished and use OpenGL 2.0.
Android'll never be taken seriously by both end users and developers unless the cycle of game quality -> user adoption -> revenue generation improves.
a million times Worms. There is a game like it called Goobers Vs. Boogers, but its not the same. If I can have Worms 2007 and 2008 on my old Nokia 5300 then why cant we get a port over to android?

try CubicMan, I spend 5 times longer in bathroom because of it. it is a puzzle game

#2: That would be awesome! I know there is a clone (boogers & ...) but without the original sounds and graphics its just not the same

oh how could i forget this?!
the incredible machine would be amazing
also, while worms is an awsome game (well the first few - before they went 3d), i can't really see it working as well on a phone - the ninjarope operation would be a nightmare

The Incredible Machine? You mean that old Sierra game for windows 95? that was bad ass back in elementary school.
and i never had any issues on my old nokia with the controls, worms would only be an issue on a touch screen only phone.
I wish someone would make or port a decent RPG. Something like a graphical version of Angband, maybe Final Fantasy or one with the 1st person view like Dungeon Master.
More tower defense games. I can't get enough of them
I would really like to see Doodle Jump in the android market. Abduction is close to it, but it just doesnt have the same addicting feature that Doodle Jump does.
That game where you need to flick the paper ball into the bin, but their is a fan blowing, so you need to set the correct angle of throw.
I want that
It's actually done. It's called Toss It and is on the Android Market. I think it's still in free demo form only, but it worked for me. Uninstalled after I made 25 in a row.
