The ideal version of Gameboid for playing the Golden Sun games is 2.4.2. I believe it's the version that fixed GS2's sound so that it's not garbled. So grab that version somewhere if you can, i use it. Newer versions reverted the sound fix because it apparently messed with the Pokemon games.

I'm not sure, but i THINK the game resets and crashes may also have been fixed with those newer versions. I haven't played them long yet, but i played older versions of the emulator and had reset glitches. No such issue in 2.4.2 though.

As for the framerate and running it smooth, that largely depends on your phone and the specs contained inside. I have a Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate and haven't noticed slowdown in any games i've tried yet. If you're having choppiness, go into the settings and to Audio & Video settings. You'll find framerate settings there. Try setting the Max frame skips to 0, which will keep games running as smooth as they were designed to go. If the screen still looks choppy, you might try tinkering with the Screen refresh rate setting. Mine is set to default and runs smoothly. Some phones may differ. Keep in mind that if you run at 0 frameskip, you need a phone that can sustain such a rate with decent power.

I guess you're mileage may vary with different games. Though if you're getting decent speeds in Golden Sun 2, it's a good sign as that game tends to be somewhat difficult to run.

I've a Samsung Fascinate as i said, and it's overclocked to 1.4ghz. I don't really get any slowdown from any games i've tried. I didn't know a 600mhz phone would work, but good job. GBA i believe is somewhat easy to emulate. Actually easier i think than it used to be on PC's with similar clock speed. I would assume that's due to the GBA having a somewhat similar type of processor to phones (ARM-based). If you get any stuttering, you can always set the auto frameskip to 1 or 2 for that specific game and go back to 0 when you're on a less stressful game.

I think the reset glitches were fixed a while ago, at least for most games. The only game i've tried thus far that doesn't work is Banjo Kazooie Grunty's Revenge. Dunno why it doesn't, might work on newer versions or maybe i'm doing something wrong...
