I'd recommend Anomaly Warzone Earth, it's very similar to Tower Defense, but you play as the attackers as opposed to the defenders. Not cheap, but easily the best game I own.

There's obvioulsy Andry Birds, Greedy Spiders, both aren't Tower Defense, but have kept me amused for ages.

Sprinkle is worth a look in as well.

Yeah, I think shadowgun is one of the better games I have played.
Is anyone having a real hard time beating Dr.Simon Exoskeleton (last boss) on hard mode?
Man, I have been trying & it's like near impossible...

Edit: got it!!! I dropped him while one of the three guys that come out on the side platforms was still shooting at me!!! Win!

After playing cartoon wars for a couple of days, I think I have been converted in to a tower defence fan. I have never played a mobile game for such a long stretch before; 3 hours in one session the other night. A night off from the other half and wasted it playing that lol

Been playing nova 3, totally hooked.it's huge though, nearly 2 gig. But graphics and playability far exceeds that of the previous two. Definitely the best one to date.

Galaxy on Fire 2 (with in-app $6 purchase to make it effectively the full game) - It's so good to play a decent "open-world" game.

Spectral Souls - Is a really good turn-based tactical RPG like FFT

Zenonia 1/3 - Great action rpg's

Angry Birds Space - Something new and original (even for Angry birds..)

Muffing Knight - Super Box Crate knock-off but with decent elements, fast paced and pretty addictive.

bonus - Chrono Trigger on the emulator.
