Well a NES emulator was released this morning. Thought I'd see a thread here by now, but I don't so I'll start!
Its called Nesoid and it works really, really well. Some people are complaining about sound and some haven't so I'm not sure whats up with that, but I bet it'll be fixed pretty soon.
whats going on guys...new here.. I just bought the emulator and trying to download games but it keeps saying doesnt support on phone can you all help..thanks

The emulator is for NES roms. Make sure the roms you download end with .nes and just put them on the sdcard
example
megaman.nes

I still cant find any games with the .nes ending all end with .zip....any help on this is apprecated..
Did you even think about extracting the file(s) in the zip ... as they are probably the .nes files ???

best thing to happen to games for andriod ever. Only gripe is Punch Out doesnt work >.< I havent run into any other games that don't work tho which is a good thing.
Here is a list of the ones I d/l and tried, they all worked perfectly, minus sound since I haven't got cupcake yet.
Crisis Force
Double Dragon 1
Final Fantasy
Gauntlet
Gauntlet II
Golf
SMB2
SMB3
Megaman 2
RBI Baseball
River Ciry Ransom
TMNT II
TMNT III
Zelda I
Zelda II
Just what I threw on my SD card while I had time at work.
if you d/l unzip from the market you can download, unzip, and play all from the phone,as the phone doesnt support rar from default.and also the roms work when zipped.theres lots of dodgy roms tho so find the best versions
Works great for me. The sound kind of messes up once in a great while but thats no real problem. As the sound for NES games are not the best and no really needed.
I have over 1,000 roms on my SD card. No problems for me.
If anyone tries Super Tecmo Bowl I am interested in their results, playability and ability to save your season.
Almost all the games work for me...I like it...tried Tecmo Bowl I II...works good with me...like one of the others said Punchout freezes up...but other that that all work great....

deffintly worth the 2$.
You might want to try to to go to the market then to your downloads to see if there is a "update" availible for it...sound didnt work for me then after the update I found sound worked perfect....just a thought..and I dont have the cupcake update either..

I did that a few minutes after I made the post. It has sound now, but its not as clear as I would like. Its a bit...distorted...or staticy.
Still thats only a very minor complaint. I am very very happy with this.
Anyone have Mike Tysons Punch Out that works? All the ones I've tried keeps freezing right after maria says "fight!"
sadly no. This seems to be one of the only games that will not work. I have tried both versions (Punch Out!! and Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!) and both of them freeze right when Mario says "Fight!".
ok i got this working, but the sound is also choppy for me, and mike tysons doesnt work which sucks.
anyone know if there is a fix for the sound? the gameplay can be slow at times too a little, nothing too big, just wondering if anyone else experiences that too.

I have the full version, but where do I put the roms folder? I mounted the phone to my computer, I can open the drive and I see folders in it, but when I open Nesoid and go to load a rom, I don't see the folder? Where do I put them?
Wait--NOW it says "Load ROM failed. Please try another file". They are all .nes files (and work with other emulators on my PC). Why is it doing this? I've tried on about 10 different roms.

I had the same problem try doing this..
when you connect your phone to your pc your going to need to create a folder in the phone in the root of the sd card...call it "NES GAMES" easy to find..
then go to download the games to your computer put them in a file somewhere you can find them easily..after you downloaded the game you need to unzip it or extract it...after that just drag it to your phone under the NES GAMES folder...
I did that--that's how I got them to show up on my phone--but now when I try to open them the error "Load ROM failed. Please try another file" pops up. I have no idea why it's doing this.
For people trying to download .zip files and getting "The content is not supported by your phone" errors, try downloading an app like AndroZip or AndExplore. I noticed after I downloaded those apps I could download .zip files again. Not sure why it's like that, but it seems to work for me. It might work for others too.
And for some reason ASTRO doesn't do this, even though it has .zip support. This is just from my experience.
Figured out my problem. I had used all the ROMS on my Mac using Nestopia--so the .nes files were then associated with that program and became "Nestopia Cartridges" (that's what it said under "Properties/Get Info")
So, I had to then go on a computer where I didn't have Nestopia installed and download ROMS. The ROMS were then "Unix Executible Files", so they are no longer 'onl' playable using Nestopia.
Problem solved! These games run great on the G1!! Bring on the SNES emulator!
I found over 10,000 NES roms, so I tried Punchout, since the one we have all been downloading via a google search seems to freeze right before the fight starts.
For those of you having problems with the “Punch Out” game, I found another copy that runs great all the way through the first round. I didn’t try anymore as I wanted to come here and report my findings. If anyone wants to test it go to
EDITED By Shivers316: It is illegal to post the links to NES ROMS
I’m only bringing it up so the emulator developer does not think there is a problem with his emulator. It must be the bad rom we are finding via google.
If it works for you please let us know.
