I found 61412 which has similar range, power and speed to 30205, but costs only 38.

Like i said, it still doesn't compare to 00011, but for those missile lovers out there, i think 61412 is the best i have found.

Let me know your thoughts.

Try 49719. I wish they would add more achievements. I finished all 88 already.

Ahh, yes, that does sound about right. Since my post I have had Titan show up in 3 levels other than 79. Once in 86 and also in 89. ( I think) Then a couple days ago in 92. I usually would start over if I lost a heart early in the game (around level 20-25) because I didn't want to miss the perfect game bonus.

Right now I'm on level 1273 with 10,763,717,231 reward point banked and I have played every level. I don't skip any levels otherwise I would miss earning alot of the reward points.

Hello folks,
I noticed that when I used my points to get the 'Bonus!' upgrade, all the point requirement for the other major upgrades doubled to 1000000! Before then, they were all 500000 (which is what I paid for Bonus!). Is this expected or is this a bug?

Thanks

This is expected. You'll notice that this happens every time you purchase one of these upgrades.

Easily one of the best games on Android. I could play the game for hours. I have the Free Version (you could do quite a bit in the Free Version, but I assume the Full Version is way better).

What is the difference between a flare tower and an upgraded fire tower w/slow burn? Sounds like they do the exact same thing (fire + slow).

The difference is that a fire tower w/slow burn is created from a basic turret, is impassable, and can attack all cells around it.

A flare tower operates more like a mine, as is can be walked through, and only attacks units that are on it's tile. Plus it's a lot cheaper.

A few more things about the flare tower: you never have to reload it, it will continue to burn and slow for the entire game (as opposed to teleporters and mines). It only attacks one enemy at a time, so if a mob is going over it, only 1 will be burned/slowed.

As I didn't see it here anywhere before, let me put this up.

How bonus works:

Bonus value base: # of achievements completed
+1/level
+1/wave (in level)
This is if I recall correctly.
So, very beginning of ever playing the game.. you'll only get bonus of 100 at end of the level.
The bonus is added to the kill of EACH unit. (don't recall the actual value per unit, but it varies depending on unit...
maybe I'll check sometime to see.

also, to just reset everything in your game to start.. delete the .bak file off your phone.

BTW, any tips on BEATING survivor mode?
Most of my upgrades (across the board) are 20-25 (some a touch higher).
Starting cash is at lvl 35, and lives are 30 (50 total)
I still keep failing by about lvl 75. Keeping the air and jeep assaults teleported drain so much money I cannot upgrade things fast enough to do more damage

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ignore, beat it last night. Took a lot of judicious sell/buy to run the ground units back and forth. was a close thing.
Loving the mix towers... 00011 so far is a fav.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just got the 'show off' achieve (1 tower and perfect) thanks to 00011. One gun tower, heavy MG. Lvl 27 'stronger bullets'

My tip for beating survivor mode is this: Because the game starts off super easy, and gets tougher as you go on, you should try to avoid building towers that you later sell and rebuild with something else - that's an inefficient use of cash.

Maximise your cash, so that later on you can build the high-end towers you'll need to finish the game.

I've had a few perfect games in survivor mode - to do so I usually build 4 teleporters, to make sure I can teleport all the aircraft that come along in the later waves, and about 20 fully-upgraded SAM towers in good locations.

Please pardon my un-tech-saviness.....These codes -- I've never heard of them. Are they essentially cheats? Are they something the developer built into the game?

I'm on Level 196 -- Basic. I didn't know and appreciate learning through this thread that there is no limit to the number of levels. I guess I'll try something other than basic for a little more variety. The only thing out of the ordinary in nearly 200 levels is the one time (around level 30 or 40) I encountered Titan -- but only once. And, I don't think I've had even one perfect game.

I'm quite addicted, but keep wondering when something new or different will happen. Is it just the same over and over again (with the need to upgrade)?

You could call the codes cheats, but they are built into the game. When you beat Survival mode, you unlock "Tower Mix" mode. When starting a new game, you'll have a check box for it. Check that box, and you can enter a 5 digit number that alters the towers in various ways. There are some Tower Mix codes posted in this thread, but there is also a thread specifically for them in the "Post Your Codes" section of the forums here.

FWIW, you might want to try a VR map, because you should get a lot more points on VR maps. A0003 is exactly the same as Basic, so you can play that the same way you play Basic, but you should get a lot more points per game.

The Titan shows up under certain specific conditions. I'll hide the details, in case you (or anyone else reading this) don't want to know.

As for something new or different, the basic game doesn't really change. There aren't any other enemies to find or anything like that. But there is Survival mode (which you apparently haven't beaten yet), and the other maps, including the VR maps, and Tower Mix mode. There are also a few towers that you can unlock (eg. teleports and mines), if you haven't done that yet.

survival sure is hard though. when should I be ready to beat it? I'm at level 30 right now and don't expect it to be a program but survival mode still wrecks me

The difficulty in Survival keeps scaling up for each wave. At wave 100, the difficulty is 1000. So, it gets pretty tough. What difficulty are you able to get through in regular games?

When you can beat Survival is going to depend on how you play, which map you use, and maybe luck, to a certain extent. A lot of people bounce ground units back and forth by removing and adding towers, so the enemies keep going past the same towers until they get worn down. If you do that, and use a lot of teleports, you might be able to beat Survival sooner. FWIW, I don't do the bouncing thing and was able to beat Survival when my upgrade levels were around the low to mid 30's.

I'm about to beat level 40.

what do you all consider the best super upgrades or whatever they're called?

So far I have these:
- guns ignore armor
-teleporter
-cheaper anti air upgrades
-double bonus points (doesn't seem to do what I thought )

not sure what to go with next

Ah. When you said level 30 before, I thought you meant upgrade levels. Difficulty level 30 (or 40) is very different. :-)

FWIW, the Bonus upgrade doubles the bonus number that you see in the upper left corner while you're playing. The bonus is used in calculating the points you get for each kill, so the upgrade increases the number of points you get, but the effect is kind of hidden.

Before that upgrade, the bonus at the beginning of each game starts as the number of achievements you've earned, and 1 point is added to the bonus for each wave (after wave 1) when nothing gets through (ie. you don't lose any health). With the upgrade, the bonus starts as twice the # of achievements, and you get 2 points added for each wave when nothing gets through.

Note that if something does get through, the bonus gets reset to the starting number, so having something get through later in the game can really hurt your score. And having things get through frequently can just kill it, because the bonus keeps getting reset to the starting level.

Since the starting bonus is based on the number of achievements you've earned, working on some of the easier achievements can help boost your score.

As for what to unlock next, it may depend on how you play. There are some things for specific types of towers, like AA cannons or mortars, so one of those might be good if you use those towers a lot. If you sell towers a lot, the one to get more money when you sell towers might be good. Personally, I've never found the mines or flares to be very useful, but flares might be more effective at a lower level, like you are now, so I suppose those might be worth a look.

If none of those special upgrades seems particularly useful to you right now, just concentrate on upgrading your towers, so you can beat higher difficulties and make more points.

FWIW, here are a few basics about the score:
If you make it through wave 100, you get some bonuses.

The Victory bonus is 20% of your score (the first line).

The Money bonus is the money you have at the end times the difficulty, times 2. So, if you have $50 at the end and you were playing difficulty 30, the Money bonus would be 50 * 30 * 2, or 3000 points. Some people will sell off towers during the final wave, to increase that bonus.

The Remaining Health bonus is a % of the score, where your remaining health is the %. For example, if you finish wave 100 with 25 health left, that's a 25% bonus.

If you don't lose any health, you get the Perfect bonus, which is another 20% (like the Victory bonus).

Hope some of this helps.

Here's an idea for a new achievement (do the devs read this board?): Finishing survival mode on a number of different maps (4, 5, and 6?).

I mostly only play the basic map, but recently have been spending some time on the others. Things like Factory and Ruins were pretty easy to suss out, but the Courtyard is pretty tough. I've worked out a strategy that's doing pretty good on the Courtyard at level 300, and will probably work for up to about 500 or so, but I reckon Survival mode is going to be hell!

FWIW, if you don't mind the lack of scenery , you can make a lot more points on the VR maps. In particular, A0003 is exactly the same as Basic, but gives you a lot more points. Maybe around 50%. You can try VR maps with 2 or more entrances, but from what I've seen, they don't seem to give you more points, so I stick with A0003.

Note the subject of the first "sticky" thread in the "Post Your Codes" section:

"You now need a post count of 25 to post in this section"

Apparently they were getting some "code-spamming", whatever that means.

It happened for various reasons, the main being we'd get people sign up and post the same code multiple times in the code threads. Whilst it might seem minor, because it happened so frequently, it became a big enough issue that action needed to be taken.

Whilst we've no issue with the codes being posted (that's why we have the codes forum), we'd rather that not be people's sole reason for being here.

Hope that clarifies things

There might be an easier way, but you could try this.

You could start by removing the game and the user data and then re-installing the game. From what I've read, that probably won't be enough, but you could try that first.

There should be a robo_defense_full.bak file in the root directory of your internal storage. I've read that the game will use that file, if it exists, to restore your game data after a re-install. So, you may have to remove the game and that file, and then re-install. You might want to keep that .bak file and just rename or move it, so the game can't find it. Then if you decide that you want to put things back the way they were, you might be able to do that by just putting that .bak file back in place.

You could also try getting rid of the robo_defense_full.bak file without removing the game. My guess is that that file is just a backup of the game data and you need to remove the game too, but you could try removing just the file and see what happens.

Hope this helps.

You guys should try Robo Defense Trainer. It basically lets you customize (hacks) your savegame, so that you can edit your bullet strength, flame strength etc. It's great once you get bored of the game itself.

The graphics were improved recently and the uranium shells just do more damage, I believe they are from the normal turret; however I believe you have to upgrade to level two or three to get the benefit.

Default Unlocked Upgrades stopped working

Hi,

I have had this game on my Droid 2 for quite a while but haven't touched it in many months. I started again in the past week and noticed that at least one if not several of my unlocked upgrades aren't working. I unlocked Air Sniper some time ago and it still appears as "unlocked" on the menu of upgrades. But when I buy Antiair Guns, their range is still only 1 instead of 2. I also previously unlocked Slow Burn but neither Flame Towers or Inferno Towers appear to be slowing their targets. Has anyone else had this problem or can you think of a way to address it without deleting the game and starting from scratch?

Thanks! =)

Default Codes for good rocket/SAM play??

hi folks,
my first post here.
been playing RD for about 2 months, currently hanging out in the mid 400's with all achievements completed and everything at level 43 except gun (40), anti air (48) and health (40).
99 % of my play is just rockets, slow towers, SAMs and occasional artillery - I never use guns, cannons or flame
looking for some cool new codes that'll give me harder hitting rockets and SAMs, without detracting too much from artillery and slow tower effectiveness. Increased range is always welcome but that's not the same thing as hitting power - I'm looking for more expensive, harder hitting rockets and secondarily SAMs.
if anyone has codes along those lines could you kindly post them?
I played 00011 for a while but I found it really boring. I was able to complete it to a perfect game using just upgraded guns and slow towers, over and over, so there was no challenge at all. Sometimes I play a few rounds of it just to get 44 million points to do some upgrades, but it's just too dang easy

Nothing "missing" it just stops you at the 10th level and prevents you from upgrading past a reasonable level for the 10th difficulty level (3 on all upgrades I believe)

Default Hitting the limit at level 610

Up to level 610 and feel like I'm hitting the limit, due to the exponential increase in upgrade costs vs arithmetic increase in upgrade power. Having to pound the Survival Mode for a quick 47,000,000 points for 3-4 games in between each regular game just to afford another upgrade in order to keep up. Currently at level 50 to 52 on all upgrades. Anyone else experiencing this?

Go through this thread for the vr code I think it is a000e or a3000 or something similar, it is the basic map, but about 2.5 times the points. Eventually you will hit the cost cap for upgrades, unless that was removed.

tnx...already using A0003

Feel like the game should cut us a break after, say, level 50: charge a 10 % exponential price increase for those 10 % effectiveness increases, instead of 20 %. Costs are going so high that I now have to play 17 games just to get 10 % more rocket power. When I hit level 600 the s*** really hit the fan with the air barrages, making most of the game the insidious fun-sucking teleport re-arming. I now seem to need 10 teleports on the middle row, and another column of 5 of them for the ground attacks, to get a perfect game as I define it (no losses, $5,000+ in cash). Historically over the 600 levels, I've noticed that the boring teleport re-arm defensive strategy rears its ugly head whenever my rockets and mortar/artillery power & speed haven't kept up with the game level, so I really focus on upgrading those for a while and then it's OK. But .... the upgrades have gotten so expensive now that I can't just jack up the power anymore. Even my trusted friend, the A0003/63830 tower mix, where I can bang out a quick but very boring 12 minute perfect game for 47,000,000 points ain't cutting it anymore - have to play it 14 times for a rocket/mortar/artillery upgrade, or even 5 times just to get a damn flame upgrade. I feel like I've hit the wall with this game...but I see people on this board at level 1,200 or 6,000 and I'm like "how?"

Default Re: Robo Defense

Back in the good old days the game used an integer that maxed at 512 this caused negative upgrade costs to occur and we got paid to upgrade about 3/5 upgrades. I play without tower codes and only use 2x slow 2x mortar 2x rocket launcher and 2x SAM anti air missiles for most levels. But lately I have been having to use about 25 turrets just to make the jeeps loop around enough to hit them before they get to the exit. As they come out faster than my weapons can fire.

it sounds like you're using much less firepower than me to get through the game!! I can't imagine getting through it all with that few turrets. I use almost every square. Here's my map for getting through Basic Level at 600 -- if sequenced right, it'll get me a perfect game every time.

I'm at level 940 on the basic map, pushing forward toward 1,000. Fun game, and addicting. My problem is I've got my strategy so down pat that it's really not much fun anymore because I finish 99 % of the games with no losses. At some point around level 500 I was just playing to eek out one last upgrade, and then another, and then around level 800 it was mainly to soldier on to level 1,000. I wish the developer would add some more stuff to the game. New enemies, new strategic options, etc. Titan is kind of a joke once you learn to use portals - would like to see a Titan with much more juice, only defeatable through just the right mix of combined arms or something.

FWIW, VR map code A0003 gives you the exact same layout as the Basic map, but gives you a lot more points.

But, yeah, once you see the Titan, and have tried all of the different tower types, you've really seen everything in the game.

Congratulations, I guess.

I finally quit playing some months back, after pretty much breaking the game. I was using the Mixed Mode super guns and kept increasing the difficulty and buying bullet upgrades. If your total score for a single game is over 2 billion, it turns negative. If you have enough points totaled up from previous games, it subtracts something from that. Otherwise, your accumulated total just goes to 0. My "Stronger Bullets" upgrade was over 800 and starting health was 500 total (so I got a 500% bonus for a "perfect" game), and I was playing difficulties over 20K. The problem was that at that level, every game started giving me over 2 billion points, meaning that I was accumulating no points at all. I had a "perfect" game at 24000 difficulty and the health bonus alone was over 2 billion (because of that, it wasn't even listed with the other scores at the end of the game).

After playing around a bit to see if I could find some way around those score limitations, I decided it was finally time to retire.

Here is my take on the "horizontal maze" strategy. I have not lost any points in about my last 500 or 600 games using this approach. Mainly because it uses the fully upgraded rockets in a dual role to take out ground and air opponents, which as far as I can tell no other strategy can do as effectively. I'm upgraded to level 58 on all upgrades but level 61 on flame thrower and rocket power. I like flame thrower.
