Default Baldur's Gate on Android

I haven't seen anyone post about this yet so I'll be the first: Holy hell guys.

Baldur's Gate:Enhanced Edition on Android tablets with multiplayer that is compatible with the PC, Mac, and iPad versions.

Is anyone else as excited for this as I am? For me, this is world changing.

As long as they don't ruin it with some silly IAP or online requirement, Baldur's Gate on Android will be pretty much an automatic buy for me.

I am wicked excited for this. Especially with the way it seems like online will work. BG 1+2, as well as NWN's are some of if not my favorite games, and have been looking for a way to play them on android since i got my original droid :P

Super duper stoked. BG2 is in my humble opinion the greatest game OF ALL TIME! Can't wait until they rerelease that baby. I'm not sure if you guys saw, but people found out about the enhanced edition based on clues in the html file for baldursgate.com about 6 months ago, way before they ever announced it. It shocks me that people were delving that deep into a website for a game made over 10 years ago.

I was a bit skeptical when they said they'd be making changes to the game, but it sounds like the stuff that they're doing for it is really solid. The multiplayer sounds absolutely awesome, and the game could use just a little bit of polishing, though I felt like the hand drawn scenes in BG2 have a really timeless quality to them.

I definitely intend to buy it for PC, android and Mac.

They've definitely wrapped up the game pretty quickly after starting to work on it, so I have my fingers crossed that it will show up bug free.

Which party are you guys going to use?

I always went with the Viconia/Edwin/Korgan for BG2, but I never really liked the evil characters for BG1.

I love the idea of BG on tablets, but new characters as in-app purchases? Are they going to ruin our favourite game?

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

It'll be like, "oh thank you for rescuing me. Can I join your party? But before I do, I need your credit card details. Is that Mastercard?"

I am getting Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition for my PC, i.e., Windows, so I won't be getting the Android or iOS version. I still far prefer playing heavy-duty RPGs on a PC over any mobile device.

For me, gaming on PC vs Android = PC wins all the time.

The PC version will be $20 for ALL the original plus new, expanded contents. The Android version will be $10 but individual new, content will be sold as in-app BS. Another epic fail for Androids.Another reason for me NOT to support Android app.

If the in-app purchases equal up to $10 to equal the PC variant's cost, or are cheaper over all, I think it's a valid mechanic. New voice sets and new player portraits are not a deal breaker for me. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the wild mage, so I'll probably skip that character, anyways. It annoyed me when I needed to cast fireball and magic missile came out, instead. Or, even worse, it summoned a demonic portal. But it broke up the monotony.

Plus I think I would like playing this on my tablet. I guess I'll wait for details between them.

Yeah I'm definitely not a huge fan of the in app purchases, and as a result probably won't utilize any of those characters.

They really have assembled an all star cast to work on this game, so I'm really hoping that it comes out well and helps to preserve the legacy of BG.
