I have been wondering about this, an enlightened member hit a few near my house 3 minutes apart which means he would have had to hit absolutely no traffic and every green light to make it in time.
Also one of my fellow resistance members set up an IRC channel and responded to somebody's post that there were "other tips and tricks that won't be discussed here, only on the IRC". My senses are tingling big time here, may have to join to see if they are offering cheat tips, can't stand any cheating even if it benefits me!
Is there a place to report suspected cheats?

if the timestamps are too close to be lagit report the user and they will be banned! people have been using various apps that shouldnt be said here to get to where they need to be. it is VERY tempting and easy to do but its not right!

I don't know how the codes actually work, when I got mine last week I just logged into the game with my Gmail account and didn't even have to enter the code into the game itself. Strange to say the least. Just thought of something else, check your spam folder because the invite comes from Niantic Labs, not Google.

So control fields were down in my area go almost 13,000 AP after work today, yay!
Linked up a ton of areas. I absolutely hate and love how little damage xmp's do! I'm only level 2. I had a friend get his invite a few days ago, and the competition is on! He's on the same side, resistance!
Use the ingress map on a pc to look for unclaimed portals. I found 3 of them in weird areas just south of me (10 min drive).

I think that we all need to remember that this is a beta version, I'm sure that Niantic and Google are aware of the issues and that they will all be adequately addressed shortly. People who cheat are only cheating themselves. It's not like there's a cash prize involved.

Have to say there are some really rabid people playing this game. Things are being taken a little to seriously which is a big turn off for me, it is a game, relax and enjoy it.

To a degree. We had some quick ramp-up people locally, some of their portals went unclaimed this weekend. They were probably using the tools we should not speak of, which apparently YOU WILL GET BANT!
Friend received his code last week, we went driving all around downtown and doing our thing.
I then got txt's like, "I'm taking the kids to the zoo so I can link those portals there" and stuff. That's a little extreme. IMHO, if you have the spare time, go for it, but don't run your life around ingress.
I did notice that with both of us in the car that one day, xm would go negative sometimes, we would be claiming the same xm on the map, then a server update would give him most of the xm.
Weird behavior indeed. So if I loaded up 7 players in my vehicle, that might be VERY strange, and extreme, lol.
Been having fun with it, if I have the free time, I might hit downtown and play a bit, or hit the ones close to my house. It's really a fun game and there's a lot of strategy. I do live in a smaller town, I checked out the maps of Seattle, and there's level 7 already, with people not far behind!

Yes. People taking road trips to help out factions and such. The comms center can be very entertaining.
I got my invite over the weekend and joined the Resistance. I wish I had checked the intel board before I decided who to join because I would have almost certainly joined the Enlightened if I had. Everything locally is owned by the Resistance and that makes it less fun for me. I really wanted to get in on some action.

Howdy! Am an over the road truck driver and read about this game. I like the idea of a location based game like this. Been playing TrailHit and have enjoyed finding those boxes when I'm parked at truck stops. This game looks very interesting and I'd love to get an invite to play it!

Get plenty of portals submitted. They take a few weeks to kick in and you may find leveling an issue until they do....unless you burn some fuel!

Yes... requested two via different emails, gave the extra to my wife. We both play without problems.
Just got my invite and joined resistance, but I don't think ill be doing any walking around in this 13 degree weather. Driving while having this app open isn't considered cheating, right? Any tips anyone wants to give me in general about this app?

I've had 5 invites so far, 3 of them to the same email address. Before peeps start begging, all the spare ones have already been given away.
It's a fun game once you get going. I had a 3 week wait before any portals appeared in my town, & I only have pedal power.
It takes me about 4 hours to get round all my local portals, & I'm lucky enough to have 1 on my front door. I suppose that's what you get for living in 1 of the oldest buildings in the country (built 1089 <-- correct date, not a typo, but it's still only the 2nd oldest building in town )
Our local Enlightened gave up for a while because they were getting their arses kicked, even though they were higher level than us. We had to let everything decay, but they have finally started playing again. Last night they turned the town green, so today I plan on turning it blue again & hopefully hit lvl 6 in the process.
My phone only gets 48 mins on it's own battery with the Ingress app on, need to leave it on to get XM. But thankfully I have an Anker Astro III 10k mAh external battery, originally bought for festivals, but proving to be very useful for Ingress. Using this I can easily go all day.

Been trying to play this game recently now that I have an Android phone, but the weather hasn't been the best for walking around town. I do have a question though, when your XM fills up, you're unable to pick up anymore, correct? So, what do you use that XM for? There aren't any portals in my area, so I really don't have a whole lot to go off of here.
There are areas near me that are of significant historical value, and I noticed on one spot there have to be a hundred portals all linked together within maybe a few hundred yards of each other. Turns out they are all at the Air Force Museum, which is about a half mile north of me. Head to museums and you'll hit the jackpot, unless someone else has beaten you to it.

XM is your energy, it is used charging portals and you have to have enough XM to attack. You will lose XM attacking enemy portals if you get "hit" when doing so.
Start suggesting portals in your area. Enable geo tagging in your camera, take the picture and click share, you should see Niantic Operations as a choice, select that and submit.

They have also mentioned higher levels, which in my opinion would make the game way too frustrating for the new players coming in. They have also promised no reset when it goes live which means you will be coming in against a whole army of top level players.
