Hey guys i have read tons and tons regarding gameboid and all the youtube tutorials. However i cant seem to get gameboid to work on my android phone (i9000 samsung galaxy S). i have downloaded gamboid (tried both the lite version and the paid version) and placed the bios file everytime.
After specifying the location of the bios there are no warnings or problem but when i try to 'select rom' to load, the screen just goes blank for a few seconds and returns to the 'select rom' page.
i have been trying to load pokemon emerald but have not been successful. Pls help someone i dono what is wrong. (PS the bios i use and the rom i use works fine with emulators on my PC)
I downloaded and copied the .bin file to my HTC Evo, however the program file browser does not have the file architecture as my PC file browser, and can't therefore find the correct folder to drop it in. Please help!
The easy route is to buy Rom Buddy and you can get both the bios file and roms from that. Or you can do it like I did and google for the bios bin and toss it onto your SD card. I didn't put it any place special. I did make a file for my roms and I put my roms in there, but the bios bin is just on the sd card, not in any particular folder.
If Games don't work, is it possibly "Bad Rom" or just not possible?
I installed Gameboid Emulator with no problem and I installed the Bios and a handfull of games. I've only tried 6 games so far. 4 of them worked flawlessly. But 2 of them would not open/start at all. My question is simply if those games didn't work, but the rest did and they all come from the same source (coolroms), does that mean those games just aren't going to work or is it possible that the ROM is bad and should I try downloading those games from a different ROM source and see if they work?
I guess my more general question is just are there some games that just won't work on the phone regardless of how good the emulator is just because of certain system limitations or whatever?
Thanks for any info!

Try them on an emulator on your computer.
If it doesn't work, it's the ROMs, in which case, getting them from another source may work.

(And if I'm not ******ed and it really only is a max of 2 multitouchs then multi is decieving and it should be coupletouch)
Map your volume key as a input key(s). I get around the multi-input issue on my EVO playing Megaman soccer by mapping the up volume key as both L & R key, then press shoot to trigger special move.

when the game freeze just hit menu and quick save and then load the game again. and it will continue the cut scene.
good to know but only works if you have the paid version of the app.
-I should problably support my developer huh?
-maybe if i do he will fix this irritating bug.
This is a bug on the end of the game developer, and not a bug at all. They programmed the game to die at that cut scene on any device that is not a legitimate game boy advance.
Hey guys ive been searching like crazy. Many people have been having trouble with the built in cheat function. Im not new to gba emulators or gameshark, the same exact cheats i use on the computer dont work on the gameboid. Pokemon emerald so you know. Any Help? Ive found that if you go to button mapping at the very bottom theres an option for gameshark button. Doesnt do anything when i push it though. Any help? I just dont wanna keep having to do the cheat on the computer and transferring back to my g1 thanks
Is there a way to trade pokemon using the Gameboid? I'm pissed that some of them require you to trade in order to get them.
(I'm using pokemon emerald)
I've also been having trouble with Golden Sun. Worked fine for the first couple hours but then started giving me problems. Getting close to a wall in some dungeons causes a small section of the wall near me to disappear. I've now hit a spot where it crashes every time and cannot go any further (ice dungeon after getting the Mia character, during the small scene immediately after the Djinn battle).
I downloaded a new rom file but that didnt seem to help either. Any suggestions?

No and unfortunately, there's never been a code for gameshark, action replay, etc that makes a pokemon evolve that would have from a trade either. You could use a code to catch an Alakazam, etc in the wild though. Also, I have heard there is a way to put the save file on your computer and make it run on vga, which i believe does let you trade.

I don't understand how to work this! Could someone PM me the instructions or something? I downloaded roms from the website they gave me, but it didn't have the bios. I don't remember bios being needed on emulators or anything before. I just downloaded the roms and it worked.

Most emulators come with a bios when you download them. This one doesn't, so you have to find one yourself. Google knows where to look: gba bios file - Google Search - First link
Does anyone know how to access the settings once you've configured then once before. I want to change my button layout and I don't know how to change it :S
hey guys i did everything that i was suppose to do. However when I put the roms in the game, it turns black and then takes me straight back to my home page...any solutions? I have the epic 4g
Hey. This app is superb, do you or anyone else know an easy way to explain how to use an action replay on gameboid? Will Rom Buddy provide a vaild cheat ROM?

Hey, if you have any sort of menu button on your phone. At anytime while you have gameboid open, push the menu button then a sub menu will appear on the screen with one of the choices being settings .

Go to Menu > Settings > Input Settings > Virtual keypad settings > D-pad + buttons layout. I prefer Bottom + Bottom myself, in landscape mode it seems the most natural way to hold it.

Have you downloaded and set a BIOS file for the program?

I love my Gameboid (paid version). It works really well for me. Only problem I'm having is that it force closes when I play Golden Sun. It'll let me play it for a few minutes and then it goes to the load ROM screen so I have to save really often. Is it a problem with the ROM? Should I look for another one? If I use a different ROM, will I have to start over?

Yep. When I load up the Gameboid it takes me to the screen where all the options are: Set Bios File(which says that I have the gba bios loaded), Video Options, Audio options etc. When I go to SD Card and try to click a game there it says file.gba not found when I clearly downloaded it.
Could it have something to do with the fact that I am using KaosFroyo V34 on my eris? It worked before on my stock eris.
