Yongzh is a man of his word. He promissed us a GBA emulator, and in a timely fassion he has delivered.
$3.99 for this app. and just like all his others it works flawlessly (after the update this morning)
The only thing diffrent about this app, is that you need a GBA Bios, like you would with a GBA Emu on a PC. You have to load the bios, then you can load the roms.
Sound works great, as does the frame rate even with sound.
I have tried the following roms, all work perfect.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Tactics Orge: The knight of the Lotus
Mario Vs. Donkey Kong
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Happy playing

The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Fro For This Useful Post:
I downloaded it last night, and it works even better than the SNES emulator. Except for pokemon, which there are some sprite glitches (quite a few actually). But I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.
I'm gonna bump this post because this is a KILLER APP!
This is well worth the 4 bucks and far superior to Kiddboy, which totally blows and cost me 2 dollars I will never get back
I can't wait until the Pokemon sprites are fixed because they are my favorite games for gba and I would really love to play them on my G1 without flaw.
hi I'm still kind of new to the whole android os and everything I was just wondering for this app I only have to pay once to use the app forever right it's not a monthly fee or anything like that

I take it that this is only for the g1 since it has hardware buttons? I have a galaxy coming, but since android doesnt yet have multitouch i was just wondering about these emulators?
needs gba bios bin, when i downloaded that, its says: download failed as the contents are not supported by the phone or something like that. either way i need help on using this app
also, anyone know how to unblock paid applications from the android market?
Would anyone recommend this for use on the Sprint HTC Hero? I've been thinking about picking it up but I am a little concerned that it doesn't have the physical keyboard buttons that would be necessary.

See my last post in this thread. Some games are good, others aren't. Depends what you're looking for. Any good RPG games?
Some people put the phone in Airplane mode when they use an app like this.. makes it run faster. You can also turn off the sound and it runs a lot faster.
pdragon.. there are some top notch RPG's for the GBA... you are better off checking a gaming site like gameboy.ign.com or something to see what kind of reviews they have. You can sort by RPG's and pick the highest rated.
I really like this app but how do you move about on it? The trackball is useless because if I roll left or right the cursor on the game just goes that way constantly nd the on-screen D-Pad is really sensitive. Any ideas?
It's not a good emulator for any kind of twitch or fast action games. All I've been good with playing so far are RPG's or strategy games. I just use the on-screen dpad. It's not perfect, no, but it's not so bad when precise movement isn't required.
Hmm, I'm not sure about the on the Droid since I haven't received mine yet.
But on the iPhone and PSP you don't mount the file anywhere, you just place it in the emulator directory.
Actually, the reason I just registered here is because I was wondering if anyone has gotten this working on the Droid.
Just search for Gameboid in the Market. (The same guy also made NESoid and SNESoid... and Gensoid). One little trick in the market place.. if you find one of these apps you can 'click' on "view more applications" and it will show you other applications the same developer has created.
I see. Cool. Can I check again, among SNES and GBA emulator, which is the best in terms of the speed and performance in HTC Dream phone? Both are paid applications too?
Hey guys, I just bought this off the marketplace for my Droid and I have an issue. I wanted to play Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages on this (a game boy color game) but it's not working. I tried Wario Land 4 and it seems to work flawlessly but then again, that is a GBA game. Can this app not play GBC games? I tried Pokemon Blue and it didn't work either. The Legend of Zelda file name ended with .gbc while Pokemon ended at .gb.
Actually, I think that's only true for the other emulators. I'm using Gameboid Lite and it saves my games just fine. Save states seem to be the only disabled feature, and while I don't necessarily need it for the games I play I might buy just to support the developer. This app is mindblowing, and brings some great titles to my Droid
This app rocks. I am on it constantly. Since I downloaded it and started playing games I've actually spent less time on my 360 and ps3.
Only bad thing is that I wish action replay and or gameshark would work on it, I got the ROM's for both and it just says move the switch to on (like on the cartridge adapter has on the device) and seeing as no switch does that mean no luck?
Hi, i am trying to download roms for fire emblem games on the android 2.0 droid, but i cant seem to find any that are in english and im trying to get the japanese patches but they dont work. Does anyone know how to use patches on this system, or snesoid?

i'm having problems with gameboid. it barely plays half the files i throw at it. maybe i'm asking too much? i'm wondering if either the ROMs i have suck or the BIOS i have sucks.
so far:
Astro Boy - OK
Fire Emblem - OK
Golden Sun - OK
Kingdom Hearts - Craps out during intro video, goes into endless loop
Mario Kart - OK
Mario Tennis - Sound stutters/lags, eventually crashes app
Super Monkey Ball Jr - Terrible sound
Zelda - OK but colors got goofed up during a fade sequence and never fixed.
Check your key configuration in Settings. You will probably need to change the default A/B/Turbo/Left/Right buttons
i have tried that...the start button worsk fine until the screen goes to select a new game and then it will not let me select new games or options ect....this happened in both pokemon emerald and super mario world. in mario world i could move around the map but i could not enter a game...i dont get it
If you don't think a perfectly running emulator which allows you to play hundreds of some of the best games ever made is worth a couple bucks on your phone... then you are a cheap bastard.
Sorry, couldn't resist. The guy obviously spent many, many hours to get this emulator running smoothly. I've owned NESoid and SNESoid since they were first released on the G1 and he has been updating these things constantly (he didn't just roll it out and forget it). I honestly don't understand why some people think they are entilted to full free applications all the time. The value you get for your $3 is BY FAR worth it.

If I can get it for free on a PC or a damn iPod touch, I should be able to get it free on a phone.
You can kiss my ass. There's not a single damn app on the market worth even a penny.
