Default PS1 controller work with a Nexus??

Offered one of these but I can't test it beforehand. Anyone wired one to a tablet successfully, please?

if its bluetooth then it will probably work, might be a problem with button configuration though.
if its a standard controller, you can try to connect it using a usb adapter.

i tested both wireless and wired xbox360 controllers and both worked, except that in the wireless one the buttons were messed up each button did something it didnt suppose to.
if the ps1 controller you are offered is free, then take it lol thats for sure.
otherwise, i would strongly suggest buying a dedicated android controller to be on the safe side.

I've tried a PS1 controller and it did not work. How To for PS2.

I have Nexus 7 and I play lots of games like Call of Duty which is one of mine favorite game but I have never used PS controllers even I have never heard about these controller. Can you tell me which controller is better for my Nexus 7?

The video I posted above is for PS2 controller which words great. PS3 wired works. For PS3 Bluetooth you have to root it. Xbox 360 controller works as well.
