Sold! Definately comfortable with getting Android and it satisfying my gaming needs now! :P Angry Birds is one of my two favourite games on my iPhone at the moment. Good news to see some good games coming to Android.

I had this on my N900, one of those games I actually played on a phone... usually not a phone gamer! Looking forward to this!

Laugh angry birds

I was a bit gutted when i saw that angry birds was only available on iPhone, iPad etc. because i really wanted it on my Hero...

Thankfully i saw this page when i was surfing the net: Angry Birds Coming To Android: Following iPhone App Store Success : Product Reviews Net

Look forward to seeing it on Android soon. Enjoy.

I second that!! It was the only non ROM game I played on the N900. I'm sick of my iPhone using friends going on about it and how it's not on Android too.

Think I must be the only person on the planet that doesn't think Angry Birds is fantastic, I had it on the iPhone but always found other games I'd rather play over it. It would be a welcome addition to the Android Market though.

I just hope that if/when it comes out that people pay for it and use it. We need good test cases for Devs to feel confident about our platform and earn from it.

If people just buy it, play the hell out of it for 24 hours, then get a refund.........well, we'll only have ourselves to blame when it comes to the (lets be honest) abysmal Android gaming selection.

They're really sending out mixed messages on this. Rovio, which I believe is the developer, says a port is coming. Chillingo, the publisher/distributor, says no:

I signed up with Rovio for an email update as to when Angry Birds will be released on Android. I still find myself watching that video of it working on a Milestone and it just makes me wonder how much longer until we see an official release. I don't think that it will be long now!

I emailed Rovio and this was the response that I received about the release of Angry Birds for Android.

"We are still testing the game on a lot of Android handsets and due to our summer vacations most of us will be away all of July so an August release looks most likely.

Cheers,
Matthew Wilson
Rovio Mobile"

That kinda sucks but at least we know that it is still coming.

I'm looking forward to it. I just hope it works on the X10. I enjoyed it on my iPhone and never finished it. I think my partner will probably get it as well, even though completely finishing it on the iPhone lol. Although I think new levels were released, so hopefully they'll be on the Android version .

The question is: will Android users pay for it?

Many seem hell-bent of getting a free ride.

If the vast majority of the world's countries are forbidden from buying android software, but not iphone software, then inevitably, it will give the impression that we are more stingy than iphone owners.

Eh... I know this is not the thread to post this question, but can someone enlighten me why Google does not allow most of us outside the good old USA to purchase the apps on the Android market? Why is there so much restrictions?

I'm pretty frustrated with that myself. Before they would allow purchases from another country, I'm sure a bunch of things have to be settled. Some examples:
- study the local law and make sure everything is ok (can be cumbersome and time-consuming)
- set up a payment system (which can also depend on the local law... what kind of payments are authorized)
- study the security system and back security standards in an attempt to avoid fraud

Still, if Apple got it together, why can't Google do it? The only logical explanation is... they don't really care. I love my N1 but this is frustrating...

I can't agree more.
I live in Belgium and I cannot buy apps, no wonder that I search for the "illegal" way. Although it is not illegal in my opinion because they don't give me the chance to buy them...

Talking

This is the best news I've heard all damn week!

It's funny, I've had my EVO for a week now, but didn't want to give up my iTouch. Whenever someone would ask why, my answer? Angry Birds.

I'll even gladly re-pay for it, just to have it on my EVO.

Windows Phone 7 by mighty Microsoft will have paid apps for only 17 countries (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, UK and United States) and there won't be any alternative market.

So since android users in those countries can't pay for apps, they will demand free. They will look like cheapskates even though they really are not.

It's funny, I've had my EVO for a week now, but didn't want to give up my iTouch. Whenever someone would ask why, my answer? Angry Birds.

I'll even gladly re-pay for it, just to have it on my EVO.
I already bought it for my ipad and itouch, would buy it again for both of my android phones.

I will buy it if it comes out very very soon. I am pretty defensive of the Android platform. I will buy gameloft games because they made at least some commitment to android. Even though you have to go around the market. Angry birds is running out of time. If i feel like they have a real commitment to android then i wont have a commitment to them. A company that has made this much money from iphone platform has the ability to get the game out sooner. A high profile game like this would probably even get help from google themselves if they asked for it.

I have played it a few times. Its a cool game. But they better get it out soon.
