I bought Dungeon Hunter. When I open the app the screen is zoomed in, the right and bottom is cut off. After the download theres a black screen. They won't fix it and I can't refund. They make uber fast android port and don't even test, give support, or update there crap. I suggest everyone boycott them.

Many are already boycotting gameloft, but for an entirely different reason. For their draconian drm management that only will hurt the legitimate buyers of apps. So sad that they're trying to pull this on android users.
I'm getting my first android phone next week (EVO 4g ) and I'm already boycotting gameloft, down with them and their old ways of business...
I'd say not even old way, people used to treat the customer with respect or they went somewhere else. Nowadays most people say one thing then do another because they have no self control and need to satisfy themselves. Anyways, I think you're giving them too much credit. The devs might be good folks, but whoever is managing their business is a low life scum bag releasing unfinished product to the store front AND jacking over honest paying customers.
It's sad because 1/2 the people that claim they will boycott them will do one of two things. 1.) Cave the instant an appealing game is released, teaching the developer its okay to screw us over. 2.) Pirate the game, giving the developer justification for their draconian DRM and encouraging them to take further measure.

I'm avoiding them until they get themselves sorted out. It might just be a matter of time, until they get their games fixed and up on the Market ... or they might be bastards. I'm prepared to wait and see.
None of this justifies piracy. If you don't consider their terms of sale to be acceptable, then don't buy it. Piracy will just make them think that Android is either not worth getting into or needs more DRM.
My buddy bought NOVA for his Droid and we played it side by side with me playing it on my iPhone and his version was just as good. I think you just got screwed with that one game.
+1 for Boycotting Gameloft. Not just for the bad support but for their DRM. I'd bet that at least 1/3 of the people that pirate would pay for the game if it was cheaper (even just $1-2 less) and it was on the market, done the right way.
Brothers and Sisters of androidforums, I hereby declare this post of thanks to necosino. Let it be known today that he has answered my question with great promptness and accuracy.
Gameloft are crazy. They are losing THOUSANDS of dollars not having Let's Golf in the market- alone. Talk about cutting their nose off in spite of themselves- Their sales and marketing apparently are utterly clueless.

Basically the same chipset (iPhone and Droid). Looks like devs that made this for Gameloft ported from iPhone, hence the issues with snapdragon. Let's Golf is smooth as butter, but less involved game.

I was looking at buying Let's Golf, but then I saw the DRM policy and changed my mind. I read today that they may be changing the policy, so I may still end up buying it. I really rather they put it on the market though.
I bought N.O.V.A. HD for my Iconia a500, and was quite impressed with the quality of the game. But when I got an update for my tablet, the game dissappeared, nowhere to be found. I called all three of their support numbers to no avail ("your party did not pick up the phone" during business hours, WTF!), sent 3 emails with all information (model, email, purchase date, receipt, everything!) Almost 2 weeks ago n got nothing! I was interested in several of their games, but I will never buy anything from them again, not for an iPod, not for an android, nothing!

Why don't you just go to gameloft.com on your device, go to my downloads, log in with the email you purchased it with and download it again.

Oh, let's golf is one of theirs is it? It came bundled on my phone, and it's an uncontrollable, buggy, unenjoyable pile of crap. I guess i was already boycotting them and i didnt know it.

Sorry,...I have nothing but positive things to say about Gameloft. They have some of the best Android games IMO and their customer support has always been fast and helpful whenever I've had a problem. And like daveloft said it's easy to redownload games from their website. So no boycott from me. They'll keep getting my $$ as long as they keep making fun games.

Thats not always true, I bought 4 games from them n when I go to ma history it only showed 1 didn't matter if I used my phone number or email address. Their games r pretty much one of a kind but their support when it comes to Android is lacking, atleast with Google whateva u buy believe it will still be there if u ready to re-download em.

What device did you buy the four from and what device are you using when it only shows one?
If the game is not listed as compatible with your device it will not show up even if you previously bought it.
You can always scroll to the bottom where it lists your device, click on it and select another device with the same processor and gpu and it 'should' work.
If you have a compatible device it may have been from a purchase that was refunded or a game given for free. They don't always make those available for re download.
If all else fails call or email. Some have complained but I have my doubts. I have contacted their support several times through email and phone and have always gotten in contact with someone.
If I knew you this would go without saying but as this is the internet it's worth mentioning. As long as your nice to support they almost always act in kind. Be firm and ask for their superior if they say they can't do that for you. It doesn't mean Gameloft can't, it means the rep your speaking to can't. Be firm and respectful and you will get what you want.
As far as their support is concerned it may not compete with being able to talk directly with an indie developer. But when compared to any other developer of their size their service is well beyond the competition.

I think you have it backwards. Android users find all kinds of reason NOT to buy Gameloft games as if they have a flourishing 3D game market while gameloft is perfectly happy to sell to other OS devices AND the thousands of android users who dont mind buying direct. I'm sitting here playing Lets Golf 2 while you want to and wait for it to come to the market marked up $2 so who's shooting who in the foot (as if the millions of devices Verizon pushes Lets Golf 2 on via bloatware isn't marketing enough). They dont look to be hurting to me.
As for customer service have you guys complaining ever USED their customer service (would be hard to believe since most of you claim to not buy Gameloft). I know from first hand experience they respond to emails promptly and if you have any proof of purchase (I used paypal reciept # when I erased my original download file) they will send you out a new download file no questions asked. I'm more inclined to believe if a game disfunctioned as badly as stated in the OP it could not have been purchased for the device it was intended to be run on and they took a chance and lost (out of $5 big deal).
As for DRM, doesn't stop anybody from buying blu ray, DVDs or pc software why am I suppose to care about a game I purchased legitimately? Help me understand the big deal or specifically GL related policies.
I bought Asphalt 5 on the Android Market. One would think that means I own the game, but Gameloft doesn't think so. On a new phone it would load up, say checking license, give an error message, then close. Sending an email to gameloft is a joke. They give generic pre-typed replies that ask you questions you answered in the first email you send them. It took 5+ exchanges for me to get a reply from one of them that was someone who read anything I said.
I even got an email telling me to "just get a refund from the Android market since it has been under 24 hours". What is funny about that is I got this email when the 15 minute rule was in place, not the 24 hour rule, and I bought the game itself over a year ago and mentioned that in the previous email. They do not know how to read.

One of the reasons this thread is a zombie is because a short time after it was created, Gameloft changed their DRM policy quite significantly in favor of the user. That part made the discussion moot and the thread died.
Edit: Looks like from the post above that even though their policies changed, maybe their practices didn't.
I have Dungeon Hunter and it's pretty good, but Hero of Sparta was a mess. I got both free last December during their free app a day thing, so I didn't mind just chucking it.
