Default 4g quadband

Hi,

I was really looking forward to buying the Samsung Epic 4G or the HTC Evo 4G, but I've found out that neither of these phones is quadband or works with a GSM 850MHZ frequency. Is there any other 4G cell phone that IS quadband or works with a GSM 850MHZ frequency?

Other important points for me are:
- good multimedia capabilities (being able to play heavy videos, different codecs and play them back into a tv via video output...without the need of a docking station).
- good photo camera.
- screen 3.7" or more (preferably 4").

Any suggestions?

thanks

Rafa

P.S - I've read on another thread that there are 3G services today that offer even higher transfer rates than 4G....if this is really the case I might consider leaving out the 4G.

7.2Mbps 3G is going to give you about the same real world download speeds as 'WiMax 4G' does today.

Most new 3G enabled handsets can take advantage of this speed.

I'm currently waiting for my Droid X to arrive so I can ditch my Palm Crapphone. I've done a bit of searching for what kind of speeds I can expect from the DX using its current 3G speed tethered to a laptop (since I may be traveling quite a bit for work). I've found some pages that report speeds in the range of 400-700Kbps up to about 1Mbps, so your statement above about 7.2Mbps sounds great. I'm assuming since the DX is such a new model it should be able to handle this upgrade in speed? Also, when will this be implemented? Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, I'm new to the forums and to Android. Thanks!

Don't forget Wimax is new to usa and would not be up to its full potential for a while. Soon 4g will be alot more faster then 3g

Not sure about the Droid X as it is used EV-DO for 3G. I don't think that EV-DO is quite as fast yet.

Not soon, a long time from now. Look at the bottom of the page for the chart at the bottom of the page on Wikipedia here. That chart is accurate. LTE-Advanced and 802.16.m (the likely technologies to officially be called 4G), will not be deployed for many years. At least widespread.

The sprint/clearwire "4G" is complete marketing hype.
