Default Droid Sound Alert!

Can someone with the Droid sound (the robot voice saying "Droid") please send it to my phone? I have the Samsung Fascinate and it doesn't have it!

Yea buddy don't ever post your phone # in public forums. I would delete that ASAP.

Anyway you can download that sound here

Lol my bad, I'm a newbie. Okay, so I downloaded it via the link, but when I go to set as, it only has 3 options, and none are notifications. How do I set it for text messages?

Yeah I'm sure I'll get tired of it, I just want it as an option though. So y'all don't know how to set it?

Open your SMS app, and then click on Menu > Settings, and you should see the ringtone option for texting.

Enjoy.

Yes there are 3 options, Voice call ringtone, Caller ringtone, and Alarm tone; but there is no option for text messaging or notifications. And what's the difference between voice call and caller ringtone?

Did you open your SMS app first before clicking on "Menu > Settings" ?

If not, check there first.

And check the standard "menu > sounds & display" as well.

No idea what the diff is between voice call & caller ringtone - you'd think they'd be the same... maybe caller ringtone is to assign the sound to a specific contact only, vs the voice call - assign to all callers...

You're trying to assign the sound by long pressing on the droid file itself. To set it as a text ringtone, follow my suggestions above.

If my posts have been helpful, please consider pressing "Thanks"...

This is going to sound ridiculous, but where is the SMS app? I downloaded the ringtone from a website, and it went straight into my music. So also, where would I find the original downloaded file to long press it?

The SMS app is your texting application. It should be the standard text button on your phone. Once there, click on "Menu > Settings".

Yeah I figured that what you were talking about. I figured it out yesterday though. It was in My Files/download, and I had to move it to My Files/Media/audio/notifications, then it appeared on my notifications ringtone list. I actually slowed it down, it sounds pretty cool IMO.
