Default Exchange works and I dont think it should??

I just received a new samsung android running 2.1 update 1. We have an exchange 2010 server with a microsoft forefront server (firewall). Security is number one for us. I just setup my android thinking that I would get a cannot connect due to security options. We are forcing 8 digit unlock password after 60 seconds and encryption. I was certain that even the newer 2.2 and 2.3 devices didnt support the forced encryption. We also dont allow non provisioned devices so I thought if the phone did not support these features that the phone would not work. I did read that HTC did some custom code that made certain features with exchange work. Could Samsung have done this to? I cant believe that they could add device encryption. FYI - I downloaded the 2.3 emulator and tried to hook it up and I did get the message that it could not connect.

Thanks
Nick

Could just be a security flaw with your server. i would contact your IT people and have them look at it.

Wow, you think that IT is an expert in everything? My question - how would someone have access to things they should not if they are not trusted to some degree? That is what passwords and things like that are for. Devices need to be kept up to date. If they are not, then when a new device comes along you want to go with...Change your settings once in a while if you think no one can be trusted.
