Hi all

I've recently got a HTC Desire HD on upgrade. My first Android phone after being a long time BlackBerry user.

Having now got used to how it works, I absolutely love it and having seen the cost of the handsets, I was thinking I might take out insurance on it, just in case.

My network provider (Three) wanted £7 p/m, which I thought was a bit steep. So I wondered if any UK users here have taken out insurance or had any claims experience and can tell me any companies to have a look at or, alternatively, avoid.

I never buy insurance for my phone. Seems a bit silly.

I don't see how it's "silly". It's a matter of choice and attitude to risk.

If you're prepared to pay out a few hundred quid for a replacement on the gamble that it won't get damaged, lost or stolen, then that's cool.

However, I'd rather pay a few quid a month knowing I don't have to shell out a massive lump sum to buy a new phone if I get drunk and drop it in my pint.

Not a particularly contructive start to my first post on the forum!
