Default Upgrade for husband

Ok, its great we can upgrade the rumor. I really love the rumor but it cant do what these androids do. Here is my debate, My daughter has an evo, my son an epic, and I have the optimus s. I told him he could upgrade with the $150. Well, phones will still cost money, you know, and we may have to wait for a mir or pay activation, It will be a struggle caue3 my number is the upgrade, but I want him to have the new phone, after all he has the oldest one and wants a new never been used one.

He said "you mean I could get that one?" meaning the evo. Well yes, but it $10 more a month, costs more.

Really I would like opinions on the transform, and other android phones that do not have the 10/mo.

Thank you in advance cause I must go to wo0rk and may not have time to look at responsed till tomatrrow morning.

As with any device selection thread: what are the needs/wants? Selecting a device is always about finding what suits the individual best.

so the kids get the 4G $10 phones... and parents get ... :P
you are too nice..

my opinion....
swap with the kids!

to answer the question.
I have read that others here on the transform.. have lots of issues... with its weak radios.
the Optimus S has had some good reviews. That was what I was looking at...but had to have the EVO.. love it!

I'll start by saying im with verizon. With my first statement I can't elaborate on the phones. But for the part about the $150 upgrade I know on verizon you can trade around upgrades and have heard this is possible with other carriers. I would ask your provider if you can swap your upgrade to his number I don't see it being a problem.

thanks for the replies. I think John likes my sons epic. I think he would also like the evo.. He likes zynga poker, which a larger screen would be good for. Its really the cost that I am concerned about.

Yeah the kids have great phones, and use them to death. I don't. but I do love my music and talk show.

The $10 thing will not be a big deal soon. Starting next month ALL new smartphone plans (I assume this also incorporates contract changes/renewals) will be subject to the $10 fee. The 4G phones will no longer be special in that sense.

With the $10 happening the Evo Shift hits your $149 budget point, unless you'll be grandfathered on your contract.
