I dont know what variant of LCD is in the SE Xperia Arc, but i have to say that the readability in bright sunlight is better than anything else ive seen outside of e-ink.

The SE site is annoyingly light on details other than it being a 24bit TFT (so presumably not the same 18bit tech that theyre selling to other manufacturers). But whatever theyre doing, i like it. I'll take the ability to actually use my phone outside over the slightly blacker blacks of SAMOLED any day.

Default Amoled

I have SGS2 and love the screen. Its colour is actually great and watching movies and browsing is nice. But have to agree it doesn't do so well with text. I have a lot of friends who uses IPhone 4 and somehow their text just seems sharper to my eyes.

For everything else, from pictures to colours, still prefer the SGS2 screen.

And the thing is, with all the specifications (numbers) flying around, I thinks its our own eyes we should be "listening" to

Its still a pentile screen, meaning that the text won't be nearly as crisp when compared to an iPhone 4 at the same size.

I'm glad I ordered my phone (Raxr Maxx) before I read any of this...I never would have been able to make up my mind.

But some of it is familiar to me...I did do my homework before buying an HDTV last year.

Retina display is no longer the ppi king.

Xperia S took it's spot, with ease.
