Confused Wrong contact on incoming call

Hi all

There are some double numbers i my contact list. How comes?
I saved my wives number in a contact called, say, "Anne" and in a contact called "ICE 1" (In case of emergency).

When my wive calls me, the incoming call is being shown as "ICE 1" rather than "Anne". I would have expected "Anne" as it comes earlier in the alphabet... I tested it with another number, say "Daniel" and "ICE 2" which produces the same behaviour ("ICE 2" is beings shown).

Is there any way to choose, which contact to be shown?

Thanks a lot for any help!

Android phones store contacts in two places, locally to the phone and on the cloud. In the case of your example, I'm guessing that you are listed as an emergency contact on her phone (ICE - In case of Emergency). It sounds like her phone is check local contacts before all contacts and finding ICE1 before finding your contact. That's probably why it displays ICE1...

Sorry, I don't understand what you are referring to as "the cloud". I don't think this issue has something to do with another phone. Furthermore I am not listed as ICE in her phone, which is not even android. Could this be a problem of storing contacts on the phone or on the SIM card?

I found one part of the solution:
I noticed, that there were two small google icons next to my ICE1 contact. That means that gmail connected two contacts with the same numbers into one.
To make them two separate contacts again: Edit the contact. Move to the section 'joined contacts', press the double google icon and the minus icon of one of the contacts. From now on the two are managed as two separate contacts.

However, this doeas not change the incoming call behaviour: It's still the "ICE1" contact which is being shown instead of "Anne"?
