It's a nice article to generate web site hits, but that's about it. One third of the general population is planning to buy the iPhone 5, no matter what? As usual with that site, comments are closed because the bone-headed author doesn't want his article or his a** torn to pieces.

I have an android and a blackberry, in homer-math I have a 109% chance of buying an iphone 5. I bet that pull down notification bar really changes things, I'm sure its a mature capable smartphone os after that.
If you click on the "about" tab of that particular internet "publication" it says this:
"Beatweek is the publication for music, podcasting, iPhone, iPod, iPod, and social media lovers." "New issues of Beatweek Magazine are released digitally for free download on Beatweek.com and are also available via free subscription through iTunes."
Pretty much all you need to know.

The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to mrsbelpit For This Useful Post:
I've certainly crossed paths with people who don't like their Android phones, but it's a huge stretch to say it's close to 1 in 2 Android users. I didn't see a source in the article.
. "But aside from Google’s own claims of Android activation numbers, there’s little other data to support the notion that Android is overtaking iPhone."
funny how all the reports i see... by 3rd parties... show android doing very well in the market.
When the original source (CNN) is bias (towards the iPhone) and even states the survey size is not big enough to prove anything you have to worry about the integrity of the people who post thing like the linked source.
I don't know if 216 people is statistically relevant. I've had some bad experience with some Android phones (i just got a droid X - my 3rd Android phone after my first 2 died after a few months of use) but this article is just crazy.

I think most polls have a sample size of over 1000 people. If you see polls, they usually say they are accurate to X%, 19 times out of 20. (I forgot what X is, but I think it may be somewhere around 5%.) I think to get these values, you need over 1000 people. I don't remember enough from my Statistics course off the top of my head to know the exact values.
I won't be touching an iPhone with a barge pole. I love my android devices, I find the people who complain are normally the ones who think an android should be like their old phone and don't sit down or take the time to get the most out of their new phone. This is from observing people at work.

Agreed, I would think that most people here are planning on staying with an Android phone at their next upgrade, but there are people who have a smartphone because it is trendy not because they want to use it like a smartphone those are the ones who would be getting an iPhone, these are also the same type of people who would have been just fine staying with a dumbphone for another contract renewal or 2 and saving themselves some money
I'm considering all my options. I never really loved my Droid 2. I was thinking about the Galaxy Nexus, but I've heard it has terrible battery life. Honestly, I don't see any Android phone that peaks my interest outside of the Razr Maxx, which looks really good, but it's another Motorola phone.
My upgrade is in April so I have some time to decide.
Yeah I won't be switching to an iPhone anytime soon only apple product I would consider is the ipad but the 7" transformer prime offers to good of a value and more in line with what tablet should cost imo considering for a $100 more then an ipad I could get a budget 13" gaming laptop.

That could quite possibly be the most asinine article I've ever read.
As a current iPhone 4 user, I got to say that other than the small screen size, the device is awesome. I jail broke it and installed everything I wanted on it. I ordered a Galaxy Note which will be in next week. I'll give Android a try to see if I like it. The manager at the local Att store told me that most ATT cutomers who already have an iPhone and then switch to Android, end up returning their android phones and coming back to iPhone. Their main complaints is the bugginess of the OS and the lack of smoothness of IOS. He also said he has had very few who go from Android to iPhone return their iPhone and go back to android, and those that do say the screen was the main reason.
I think that these polls aren't very accurate, and that for many, the grass is always greener on the other side.

So I suppose you downloaded all of your stuff through Installous?
If so, you're bragging about ilegally downloading stuff?

Don't believe everything you read. They lost their credibility with me when I saw this cover on their website. Besides 80% of the articles listed are about Apple and Apple products. Bias much!

Most of the general media is pro apple, everything is twisted that way. I had 1 friend that recently went from Android to the iPhone 4 and it took her 2 days to want to switch phones.
The reality is anyone that isn't all apple (Mac, iPad, apple tv, iTunes, etc) and needs everything to work together should really not be getting the iPhone. They really don't do that much compared to Android. And yes, I am typing this post from my iPad

Surrounded by folk with iPhone 4s' They all do the same thing.... Giggle at the size of the note but within 5 mins are amazed by it and cannot understand why it's cheaper than the Apple product.... Good people, all of them but they have all been "Marketed" Fair play Apple *nods*
I don't think that they will be so close minded when they next come to change their phones (In 24 months time not 18 like me )

I'm typing this from my daughters archos g9 which although it has some bugs and does crash every now and again I much prefer to my iphone
I am actually looking forward to the HTC One on T mobile when I am due for my upgrade. I will NEVER buy an HTC phone with Sense, but since the T mobile version is supposed to run stock android I think that will be my next phone.

you are doing exactly what they want.
IMO... let that link die.
we can talk about it here...or copy the article here.. and discuss.. but dont push more eyes to the site.
