Hey guys, I was hoping someone could help me out.

Earlier tonight the home key and search key on my MyTouch 3g (android 2.2.1) stopped working. Also, pressing any key at all unlocks my screen and when I hold the end call button, I only get the option to turn my phone off instead of airplane and silent mode. I did clear the cache on my Bluetooth Share (I never use it), and I feel that the two may be related.

I looked through the forum and found one walk through that said:

"->Settings->Applications->Manage applications->Google Apps->Clear data->OK
back to Settings (<-<-<-)
->Data synchronization
it will then prompt you to re-enter gmail address and password."

Unfortunately, this did not work for me (I could not find "Google Apps")

If anyone could provide me with some tips on how to fix my phone, it would be much appreciated. I do not want to do a factory reset because I would lose some text messages that I've had for a while.
