Question Which uses more battery - BT or GPS?

I have an LG Optimus GT540 on android 2.1

I use the inbuilt GPS for navigation but also have a superb standalone GPS module which can connect to any device via Bluetooth.

Was just wondering which uses up more battery on an android phone...

1 hour of GPS naviagtion with inbuilt GPS on and bluetooth off...

... or ...

1 hour of GPS navigation with GPS turned off but bluetooth on connected to an external GPS receiver?

Any ideas folks?

I find that the mapping application uses my battery the most. Google Maps does a lot of processing when turned on for drawing the map on my screen in addition to calculating position. If you are referring to the BT or GPS receiver itself, I think they are negligible compared to the mapping app which has to redraw the screen constantly.

I'd keep the bluetooth off.

OP, why don't measure it, you have the equipment

I would be glad to know about the findings

EDIT: 'Battery Montior Widget' shows the battery's discharging current in a graph by time. May be helpfully
