For better or worse our family just bought 3 of Stright Talks's Samsung Galaxy Precedent phones. They are powered by Android and localy run off of the Sprint Towers. I set it up today but can't connect to the local tower. The Straight Talk people said they have notified Sprint with the problem and it should be cleared up in a day or two.

Here is my question. Does the Samsung Galaxy have the ability to connect to a different system other than 3G??? We upgraded from a non G3 Android phone and never had any connection problems with the old phone. Is there only 1 type of system this phone works with??

The Precedent can only use 3G speed when connecting to internet and such. If your asking if the Precedent can have 4G speeds, etc then no. I'm pretty sure the speed doesn't affect your signal. Well, I suppose it can, but I doubt that's why your not getting one now. Did your last phone use Sprint towers?
