Question xmas time but no tablet to buy? UK! :(

morning all, i know theres a couple of threads already about which tablet to pick up for christmas but theyre all talkin about the US.

is anyone in the uk having the same dilemna? the tablet is for me. so i want a decent screen resolution, preferably something to watch movies, and then web browsing and apps. So im not necessaily after a power monster. is there any cheaper (-£300) tablets that are running 3.2 which match my requirements?

my issue is i dont want to buy an ipad2 because ipad3 isnt a million years away. I dont want to buy a samsung 10.1 because theyve been out a while now and are still as much as an ipad, so normally id buy an ipad.

i really like the look of the samsung 7.7 but that seems to have been lost i santas sack with no sign of release this side of xmas

the same goes for the toshiba thrive 7 and the transformer prime, both of which arent hitting these shores before xmas according to most sources ive read.

so, as far as i can see no company is making a big push for the christmas tablet market which im amazed by.

i'd prefer an android based tablet , hence why im here, so is the 10.1 worth getting? or would it be better waiting until after xmas.

thanks for any advice

You can pick the Asus Transformer 10.1" for just over £300, , Acer A500 101" is just under £300 or the Acer A100 7" for around £250, Motorola Xoom is going for around £300. Also Kindle Fire should be out shortly for just under £200

No, I wouldn't get the current Samsung Tab as the new one is hugely overpriced due to stock issues and older one is well old.
