Default deleting ALL SD card content before rebooting/reinstalling android phone?

Im planning on rebooting/reformatting my android phone. However i also want to wipe clean my phones' sd card, to make sure its 'clean' and error free.

Would the android installation/reboot still happen, after i manually delete EVERYTHING on my sd card???

I assume a fresh set of android system folders are copied over to the sd card during installation/reboot?

Default

You should be able to go to settings > Storage and format the SD card as well as do a factory reset which would bring the phone and SD back to having no accounts on it.
